FWIW........I have the draftboards for Jax & Niners...so GMs that are close to drafting ......stay tuned.
Eh Buffalo is upcoming though and JasonJets missed the Cowboy pick so we might be at a halt for tonight.
I'm more concerned about Vision...GB.....I don't think he's been around. I won't wait on JasonJets if he missed a recent pick, let's see if Vis shows.
BENGALS ARE DONE RD 1. BJ Raji, DT, Boston College RD 2. Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn State RD 3. Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee As I said in the draft thread .... Some people might call this overkill, three D-linemen in rounds 1, 2 and 3 (DT and two DE's), but its really not because the Bengals D-line is that bad and that much in need of a complete and total overhaul, which is why they ranked dead last in sacks in 2007, second to last in 2008 and dead last over the past two seasons (07 & 08) combined To put it bluntly, their front four is absolutely putrid and you cannot compete in the NFL if you run a 43 defense and your front four is that atrocious .. so yeah, the Bengals have other needs, but Rome wasn't built in a day and you're not fixing everything with one draft, but one thing I think I fixed here is that dreadful defensive line
I am here! Haha, wow I am sorry i am missing so many picks. This time there were no computer problems, I just forgot. I will be here for the Buffalo pick.Once again, I am really sorry.
Jason, Don't leave without PMing me your Buffalo board, we may have a wait for GB(vision).......I have the niners Pick.
Raji will definitely help boost their pass rusher - especially by drawing double teams. Maybin needs to add weight and strength, but he knows how to get after the QB. Ayers isn't a DE I like as a pass rusher though, he's more of a run stopper...He's only been a one year starter and he has never put up big sack numbers. He has good size, but he lacks speed, which will hurt him in the NFL. He had a good week at the Senior Bowl though - showing good burst. RA is good against the run, but he won't be the answer the Bengals' pass rushing problems
Yeah but they can't stop the run either because their entire front four is a joke, so I know Ayers is a better run stuffer than pass rusher, which is why I drafted the speedy edge rusher (Maybin) for RDE and the bulkier run stuffer (Ayers) for LDE, and of course Raji for the middle ... now I only wish I had one more pick for the Bengals so I could draft one more DT
BTW, I think Ayers can be a Sean Ellis type LDE, not a dynamic edge rusher like John Abraham, but a guy who can stuff the run and give you 7 to 10 sacks as well .. I think he can be that kind of LDE in the pros
My lone concern for Cincy would be a WR to replace Houzh possibly.....Especially with Chad not liking Cincy and everything.
I see Rob Ayers as a 3 to 5 sack DE, but he has the potential to be a very good run stuffer. I was never knocking your pick, getting Ayers in the third is good value. He just isn't their answer as a pass rusher. His lack of speed and upside may lead to him being a situational player.
Here are the Raiders day one selections: 7. Andre Smith OT Alabama 40. William Beatty OT Connecticut 71. Marcus Freeman OLB Ohio State Not a bad haul.
Kansas City is done. First three rounds yielded: 1.3) Brian Orakpo, DE, Texas 2.2) Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma 3.3) Derrick Williams, WR, Penn State Not bad for The Fightin' Larry Johnsons, if I do say so myself. Which I do.
I need someone willing to make Greenbay's pick at Midnight, if vision doesn't show.....I can't I less than 5 away.
