    TEXANS GETTING SOME TRADE INQUIRIES

We'd previously heard that Tom Condon's primary selling point in attracting USC quarterback Matt Leinart was Condon's plan to get either the Titans or the Jets to strike a trade up in the draft with the Texans for the No. 1 overall pick, which then would be used on Leinart.

Condon already has achieved partial success. Sort of.

We're told that the Titans and the Jets have contacted Texans G.M. Charley Casserly regarding the price tag for a trade. But not in an effort to get Leinart.

Instead, these two teams -- along with the Raiders -- have contacted the Texans in the hopes of possibly landing Leinart's teammate, tailback Reggie Bush.

The development is somewhat surprising, in light of recent speculation that Bush might not even be the first guy picked.

Although there's plenty of misinformation floating around in the days leading up to the draft, we've got no reason to question our source on this one. So, as always, stay tuned.

Wow, according to the draft chart it will cost us the #4, #29, & #35 to move up. I'm not sure if even bush is worth all that. But if we can do it for less, then welcome bush to NY.

Agreed, we need to retain 35 if we do the trade, but if it costs something like a 4th and 4 and 29, then I'm all for it.

I would trade #4, #29, and maybe a 2nd for next year... but our first 3 is kind of crazy. But Bush would be worth it, IMO.

    How about 4, 29, (possible) mid-round pick and a future 2nd?

How about not trading away 3 potential starters for a 15-20 carry a game tailback.

I doubt we'd get a 4th back....but other than that I'm not too sure. I think with 4, 29, and 35 for 1, we break even in value point. With Texas trying to move out, we gain some leverage, so I think we can exchange 35 for a later round pick, but not much else. 4 & 29 going are almost definite if we'd do this.

I doubt very much that the Jets FO will be serious about trading up.....they are just covering all bases in case they can get Bush for a bargain price. (fat chance)

Can someone remind me again in what game was it last year, and what play by what player, that we lost all hope of getting the number 1 pick, and thus our chance to win the Reggie Bush sweepstakes? Thanks in advance.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb. What if we trade our first three and Reggie blows out a knee in training camp?? What if he is just a bust? Do you really think 1 guy can contribute more than 3 players in the top 40. NO WAY.

    Correction...top 35.

I REALLY like Reggie Bush and I don't think there are many who dislike him. He is very likely to become a star, I just don't see how we can give away THAT many picks...3 picks in the first 35? No way...

This is how I see this situation as related to the Jets. Houston will listen to offers hoping to get blown away. The Jets will make offers with hopes of stealing Bush away. In the end, there will be no deals and Houston will pick Bush #1..

i know we basically lost hope after the 26-10 win over the raiders, however i dont remember a specific play in that game, i know abraham forced 2 fumbles in the 2nd half, that coulda done it lol.

Cant really see us trading up for the #1.

I really dont think that Bush would be worth it. I think he will be a great player and everything like that but he is just not worth the price that we would have to up for him.

As a franchise you should only trade up if the person has ZERO question marks. Bush still has ?can he carry a full load? thats still huge in my opinion.

Keep in my like the article says that its two weeks before the draft and a lot of smoke and lies get blown.
