Anyone want to take a guess at who Rex Ryan would want to be in the senior coaching position on defense, IMO, are important assistant spots.

    Defensive Line Coach.
    Linebackers Coach.

I, for one, approve wholeheartedly with the approach Rex Ryan has taken with the staffing vacancies. It should be no mystery that he is allowing Brian Schottenheimer to fill his offensive staff with people he is confident in, just as Rex Ryan is going to complement the staff vacancies with candidates that he likes.

If I could take a guess, Clarence Brooks (D-Line Ravens), Jeff FitzGerald (LB-Bengals), Fred Pagac (LB- Vikings), Jim Washburn (D-Line Titans).

Obviously I highlighted my favorites. I love the tenacity of Jim Washburn, and Jeff Fitzgerald is adept in the 3-4 defense.

I would like to see who Coach Ryan picks as the mainstays of his defensive coaching staff.

Why in the blue hell would we want the Bengals LB coach? What exactly is the approach RR has taken with filling out his staff vacancies? He's hiring friends and guys he's worked with before, just like every other coach in history of professional football.

The only way we will know if these are good hires is when his first season as HC is complete. I also support RR 100%, but for anyone to approve or disapprove of any assistants brought in now is premature.

why must you be so fucking shortsighted.

if you knew the coaching career of Fitzgerald you would know:

FitzGerald directed Baltimore's talented LB corps for the past four seasons (2004-07), and in 2006, he became only the second LB coach in NFL history to have four of his players named to the Pro Bowl in the same season. for example, i dont know, the four linebackers were Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, Terrell Suggs and Adalius Thomas.

In Cincy he has no talent, and they havent really been fucking smart in drafting quality linebackers, so, in comparison with our linebacking corps, and teaming back up with Rex Ryan, I would say it would be a lovely addition to our defensive staff.

the argument of its the players more than the coach can be had with this one... but if Fitzgerald is coming here thats fine... he did go to Concy after all.

Yeah I guess I'm willing to give RR the benefit of a doubt with his entire staff.
