I'm not a big Kiper fan but I do see a lot of picks that would make sense:

1 Detroit Matthew Stafford QB Georgia
2 St. Louis Andre Smith OT Alabama
4 Seattle Michael Crabtree WR Texas Tech
6 Cincinnati Jason Smith OT Baylor
9 Green Bay Malcolm Jenkins CB Ohio St.
12 Denver B.J. Raji DT Boston College
15 Houston Everette Brown DE Florida St.
16 San Diego Knowshon Moreno RB Georgia
23 New England Brian Cushing LB USC
26 Baltimore D.J. Moore CB Vanderbilt
27 Indianapolis Peria Jerry DT Mississippi
28 Philadelphia (from Carolina) Michael Oher OT Mississippi
29 New York Giants James Laurinaitis LB Ohio St.
32 Pittsburgh Alex Mack C California

I could see Green Bay taking Brian Orakpo or Everette Brown. They need to start building that new 3-4.

ok, how is mel kiper a moron? He is nearly spot on with his predictions year in year out. This guy gave the hype to guys like Matt Ryan.

They could go that way. But their starting CB are each about 100 years old. And getting possibly the top CB in the draft would be pretty tempting.

Kiper was at one point in time "the only game in town". Kiper has worn-out his welcome. Listening to Mel, he doesn,t get into specifics, like Mayok does. Mel never explains a player's techinique, something Mike Mayock does very well.

BTW, Mayock is very critical of Will Moore and praises Darius Butler, I'll trust his eye, especially since he was a DB.

Quite frankly I don't know if the guy is much more knowledgeable than some of the top guys on this message board. Kiper never played a down of football in the NFL, college or even in high school. So the nerd / wanna-be factor is pretty high. Then there's been rumors since forever that $$ are exchanged for hyping candidates. Oh, and don't forget the hair. Need I say more ?

I would be rather angry if the Jets went with Harvin over Maleuga and Laurinitis. I don't really care for Harvin and i think he's another Ted Ginn Jr. while Maleuga and Laurinitis were looking like top ten picks in last year's draft and would fill a bigger need.

    1. Have you listened to him?

    2. Have you seen his hair?

    3. Matt Ryan earned his hype...Mel Kiper didn't give anything to anybody.

It doesn't matter though, Adam Schefter will dominate on draft day again...he knew who teams were picking 5 minutes before they turned their card in.

You agree with Kiper that Oher and Laurinaitis will be available at #28 and #29.

    Right.

thats because he was near the table and got the inside info... he was actually told not to do that this year because he ruined the surprise for every pick in the 1st round.... I hope he doesn't do it again, it made draft day less enjoyable.

Mayock is the guy to pay attention to IMO

How comes that Michael Oher slipped that much?

He would have been a Top 10 Pick last year and now he's supposed to slip out of the Top 20?

I have to admit I didn't see any games of him but did he regress?

If Ryan doesn't bring Lewis to the Jets then Laurinatis is definitely the guy I would like to see. Maybe he can kick Gholston's ass too.

No, I don't necessarily think those specific guys will fall. But I think the positions are correct. The Giants need a LB and Philly needs an OT.

Mayock does a fantastic job. He gives so much more than fluff!....not to say Kiper's analysis is basic and bland......but Mayock's analysis of a players strengths and weeknessess from practices and scrimmages alone are a treat for football junkies.

He was also all over Leon Washington at the combines. He was spot on regarding football abilities for a small"er" sized RB.

Percy Harvin? I'm not sold on him.

With Rex at the helm I could see several of the guys Kiper has slated later going to us instead.

    Tyson Jackson
    Brian Cushing
    James Laurinaitis
    Larry English

Thats just off this top 32 list. I highly doubt Rex has us going with a short speed receiver in round one this year. He'll want to fill defensive holes so he can bring his D to NY.
