    It NOW says:

Rex Ryan (born December 13, 1962 in Ardmore, Oklahoma) is the head coach of the New York Jets in the National Football League. He previously served as the defensive coordinator/assistant head coach of the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League.

Nice, a fat, honest speaking coach who will play to win and tell us when they suck instead of acting like a robot. I hope he has chicken gravy stains on his shirts at press confrences.

Agreed. I have to say, i am pretty excited about Rex, though.Hopefully the team takes on his agressive, hard nosed, personality.

My favorite part of an article on Newsday.com

Ryan has been an assistant with the Ravens for 10 years. "Ten years, that's an eternity in the NFL, that's for sure," he said. "They're special people here. Frank Walker dislocates his shoulder and gets back in there. Anybody can play when they're healthy. True pros get back in there when they're hurt. It speaks to the character of these men."

I'm pretty damn optimistic right now. I just hope Tanny is able to fix our cap issues and bring in the players that Rex needs.

About as long as it takes to go 3-13 or 4-12. What do you think? This is NY (sort of), there are no free passes.

Wow, just cut and paste everything we said about Mangini three years ago.

Three years from now will be talking about how he must go! And the circle of Jet life continues.

I actually wanted Spags....but I will wait and see what he does with the coaching staff first.

Am I the only one who things this is a horrible move? Rex Ryan is unproven... and the Jets (Woody and Tannenbaum) don't interview Gruden or Shanahan? Two coaches who are proven winners and they don't even think about them. Woody and Tannenbaum are both clueless, this organization is clueless and JETS fans will continue to suffer for it.

    A long time suffering fan

Gruden is so ridiculously overrated that I bet even HE laughs when he looks at his superbowl ring.

Shanahan hasn't done shit in years.

Yeah, you are the only one. The Jets had no intention of hiring an experienced head coach so to talk about any of them is a waste of time. Now if you have another unproven coach to compare him to then by all means do so.
