Callahan didn't change his offense. The Bucs defense knew what was coming in that superbowl.

I'm not offended by your attempt to ridicule me, I'm offended by your clear lack of reason and hypocrisy, which are indicative of a lack of intelligence. an intelligent person wouldn't have behaved so hypocritical in such a short span. clearly, you're the one who needs to chill the fuck out.

He was 95-81 during hs tenure in TB with a .556 winning %...Finished 1st in the NFC 3 times, finished 3rd 3 times and 4th 3 times. O yea won the Super Bowl in 2002...

Oakland 1st 2 times, 3rd once and 4th once..Lost to Ravens in the AFc championship game in 2000...

And to the best of my memory his qb's were Gannon w/ OAK and Brad Johnson with TB, neither SUPREME qbs at the time

Sounds like a interview should be scheduled immdiatley..

players hate him down here, media hates him ... would be my last resort if things fall through with everyone else (this being the jets, everything will fall through)

He won the Super Bowl with Brad Johnson, who was 78 years old...Went to the AFC championship with Oakland with Rich Gannon as his QB and he was 112...Sounds like a perfect fit for the NY Jets and Brett Favre...

Gannon was actually damned good. He blew chunks early on in his career and the sidearm slinger turned it on later in his career.

Right here. And Gruden is a total douche...makes Mangini look like Tom Landry.

Don't you listen to the radio?

They must not want him to get a job waiting this long to dump him. More to this story than what is on the surface.

No, No, No. Just the way he benched Jeff Garcia at the end of the year over personal issues is enough to show me I don't want him anywhere near my team. That benching very well may have cost TB the playoffs...and for nothing more than Chuckie being an a-hole.

dude people like you on message boards are so funny....you act all intelligently as if your plato but you probably work a dead end job and take out your misdirected frustration on a message board....hey whatever works i guess....

    anyway....

this is great news and I hope Gruden is pursued by the Jets...he was on my original short lists for coaches of course assuming he would be fired....he moves right to the top of the list IMO...Rex Ryan cannot be happy right now...

your avatar shows that you have the ability to remain objective and do not have a clear favorite lol...just bustin balls..

i think you raise a good point...at least about the benching...but we could also say if mangini sent a statement and benched favre in the same manner would it have sparked the team???

here's the bottom line....I would like a coach that wants to win, has won before, and has proven he can STILL win. Gruden comes with a brilliant offensive mind, loads of HC experience, and he's been to the dance.

I'm not saying Rex Ryan is a slouch...i like Rex as well...and if we end up hiring Rex, i will be just as eccstatic.

I'm saying to bring in Gruden for an interview to see what he has to offer....I really don't give a shit what the players in Tampa think of him...hell, Garcia could be just as big of an asshole too...he's a quarterback afterall. Gruden has a stellar resume...worthy of being explored, IMO.

if the Jets FO find out that Gruden isn't a good fit....I'm okay with that....at least they can say they explored that avenue.

Just my opinion, B'moose...you raise a good point too...i'm not trying to shit on ya here :)
