Gannon was actually damned good. He blew chunks early on in his career and the sidearm slinger turned it on later in his career.

No, No, No. Just the way he benched Jeff Garcia at the end of the year over personal issues is enough to show me I don't want him anywhere near my team. That benching very well may have cost TB the playoffs...and for nothing more than Chuckie being an a-hole.

here's the bottom line....I would like a coach that wants to win, has won before, and has proven he can STILL win. Gruden comes with a brilliant offensive mind, loads of HC experience, and he's been to the dance. I'm not saying Rex Ryan is a slouch...i like Rex as well...and if we end up hiring Rex, i will be just as eccstatic. I'm saying to bring in Gruden for an interview to see what he has to offer....I really don't give a shit what the players in Tampa think of him...hell, Garcia could be just as big of an asshole too...he's a quarterback afterall. Gruden has a stellar resume...worthy of being explored, IMO. if the Jets FO find out that Gruden isn't a good fit....I'm okay with that....at least they can say they explored that avenue.
