Just heard on Total Access, that Schefter said Woody is absolutely enamored with Rex Ryan, even though other people with the Jets want Schotty. He also said DON'T COUNT ON SCHOTTY BEING BACK if ryan is there (he already posted this in his blog). If this is all true i say kudos to Woody. I know he botched the stadium, but it really seems like Woody wants to win, now if that's just for PSL money or not, i don't know, but i think Woody is doing a good job. Thoughts?

Good. Very good. I still don't get the fscination with Schittenheimer. Promote Callahan to OC if Schitthead leaves.

I swear to god, if we go with Schottenheimer, I'm not going to be able to handle it.

I will promise I'm not watching next season if he is, even if he goes 13-3 in his 1st year.

Woody wanting Ryan means that the man is trying to win, but he continues to go about it in a wrong way because he has no true #2 man who knows the NFL inside and out. He has a lot of business people around him with no NFL playing, coaching, or FO experience. He needs that confidant. But alas he is trying. Trying only gets you so far, but maybe this next try will do it.... i'm going to say "we'll see" just so that my chickens aren't counted before they hatch.

Bro, if NYJ hire BS to be the Head Coach we will be the 2nd team in NFL history to go 0-16. They'll be handing out brown paper bags with programs at the games.

we would abandon the run in the 1st qtr after being down 3-0.

OR, which is still find a little tough to believe because there is no good conclusion to come out of it, if Schotty really is a brilliant guy but Mangini locked away the good playcalling, then Schotty is a pussy... and I can't stand pussy coaches anymore - too many have come and gone with this organization.

Schecter's reports are almost always trustworthy, unlike most others. This sounds good. I'm thinking buh-bye Schottenheimer, hello Ryan and Pettine. Now who do they bring in as OC, or do they promote Callahan? Best case scenario is Tanny and Ryan learn to work well together, and then we have something.

I'm shocked Woody wants Ryan to be our coach. For an owner who doesn't know much about football, I give him some credit for getting along with Ryan and showing him the love.

My athoughts are that Tannenbaum is a bureaucrat trying to keep his job and BS is in cahoots with him. These other Jets officials are also most likely beholden to Mr. T. I think he fears a big personality coming in. Especially a guy with the Ryan pedigree. Tannenbaum is very insecure in his position. He worries about things like fan reaction, something another exec would belly laugh about.

I eagerly await Schottenheimer wining multiple Super Bowls with the Cincinnati Bengals and Jet fans crying about the great coach we foolishly let get away because management is a bunch of idiots.

Callahan would be a good fit for OC, we'd have some familiarity with the playbook but hopefully less idiocy with the calling...

I would really rather keep him with the offensive line. He's great there. Shouldn't mess up a good thing.

I don't want Woody making the call on the HC, though it is certainly his right and ultimately what will happen.

No one here knows if Brian Schott is a good coach or not. We just don't. Because you don't know what say he had on any decisions.

    Amen brother.

The fact alone that Woody wants Rex turns me away from him. Schottenheimer is the guy, baby Marty only better when we can have him in charge and not being shackled by Mangini. Promote Schotty, lets go.

why are you so sure lil schotty was "shackled" by Mangini? People have been saying this suddenly. It's just your theory right?

Let me tell you about Schefter he is a good reporter but he hates to be wrong. So its a game of Telephone so now he is making look like he is taking his reporting before and trying to make it sound accurate no matter how it turns out. The reporters have too much time on there hands. To me right now it seems obvious its Rex and reporters hate waiting and twideling their dumbs. They want to be the first one to get it right. So if they throw enough crap on the wall something will stick.

I'm not, however I'm willing to see what the kids got as opposed to going with someone who has been made to look good by great talent. All im saying is give the kid a schott.

    ha.
