I've heard the reports about EM going for Rob Ryan for the Browns DC, but I haven't even heard the possibility that Rex would hire Rob. Why isn't this being mentioned? Do they prefer not to work together since they're on different teams?
I know, i thought of that, also. I'm pretty comfortable with whoever he picks to lead the defense. If Ryan feels confident enough to hire someone, i gotta believe the new DC will have the same defensive phylosophy.
theres the possibility that Rex knows hes better than his brother. his brother also runs a 4-3. also Rex Ryan is the head coach of the Jets, when i see his big ass wearing a green cap and see a green toyota sponsor plugged backdrop in his press conference the fact that Mangini was highly criticized for his DC choice, and is now gone. and wants Rex's brother for the Browns. yeah, no thanks.
I find it interesting, though, that yesterday the Browns have named Daboll their OC and Seely their ST coach, but have yet to name the DC
^^^ They might not yet be able to. Rob Ryan might be having trouble letting good ol' Al get him the hell outta Raiderville.
my bad, Ryan WAS named DC http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2009/01/browns_finalize_hiring_of_coor.html
I have read some reports that stated neither one of them wanted to work under the other. Can't say I blame them, that is just asking for trouble in the family.
That would just be begging for some awkwardness. What happens if the defense struggles, would Rex be able to fire his own brother?
