Look...I am first and foremost against Brian to be HC. I want Rex Ryan, and pretty much Rex only. I don't want Spags solely because it'd be yet another defensive scheme change.

Now...It would be WIDELY crapped on if Woody/Mike T. hire Brian. Woody put some eggs in for Cowher, missed. The Jets were "interested" in Shanahan, missed. I believe they were also interested in Holmgren and we knew he wasn't coming back for at least one season.

If Brian succeeds and does an 10-6/11-5 season and shows some good things, then we MAY have something, still doubtful.

If he flops and pulls a 5-11? Woody could fire him like Al Groh and have his legitimate shot at Cowher, Shanahan, or Holmgren, all will take that "year off." Don't rule out Jon Gruden if he misses the playoffs again in Tampa to also be a hot candidate.

So...If Brian works, we'll see, I doubt it...If he fails? Woody and Mike T would once against succumb to the fans and media and fire him to get one of the guys they originally wanted.

    Ponder it.

i dont want to waste a year dude, especially if favre retires and this being the critical year we either have to find a new qb or find out KC is the man for the job

Whatever happens, happens. We don't have any control over who's going to be the next head coach, so we might as well accept who it is. When it's finally announced, we'll talk about how we'd want the new coach to fix the team.

Hey, if they miss out on Rex...The Jets are fucked. No Cowher, Shanny, or Rex? Wow.

    KC isn't the man...

But it wouldn't necessarily be a wasted year, if Brian works, then we may have something...

But again a 5-11 campaign...What fans are going to want those precious "PSL's" going into a brand new stadium with Brian Schottenheimer has HC if he fails?

Woody would without question fire him after 1 subpar season to hire one of the "Big 3" to help him move into a new stadium.

I'm done waiting and hoping...I want a fierce competitor..Someone with some fire in his belly that shows emotion on the sideline and flips over tables in the locker room..I want Rex Ryan as HC and his brother Rob as Asst. HC and defensive coordinator..

i guess it wouldnt be the worst thing to throw KC out there next year, find out hes not the man and then maybe be in position to get Mccoy, but still, i dont want to throw away a year, particularly when our rb will be 31 next year, and our offense is aging quickly,
