Per Chris Mortensen/ESPN news ticker, Spags, Brian Schot and Rex Ryan are top three(not in any order). Apologize if this has already been posted.

I don't know what's so special about any of them...and I pray none of them are fans of gum...I just hope we hire someone with a good head who'll end this team's bullshit and this fanbases' bitching.

I want someone who'll stop people from fucking pulling shit out of their ass just to call it shit.

    Heard Mort on the radio

Said Brian S, Ryan and Spags. He said they would like to hire Brian S but concerned about flak from the fan base. When the Jets make this hire they should have no concern whatsoever with the fan base. The fan base should have their say but the coach needs to be picked based on the process. Tanny and Woody must have courage when making hte choice and if they feeel Brian S. is the best choice then they must make that choice. I don't think antony of these guys will have any affect on PSL sales. There isn''t a "name" among them. When you hear the NFL Insiders(Mort, Glazer, Schefter) they about Schottenheimer, they all say he has a tremendous reputation in the league. I don't know if he gets the job but i will be supportive just as I would with the other candidatws.

Becuase they want him. Obviously, he's not going to interview while in hte playoffs, but he may have took a phone call and told the jets that after the season he';ll think about it.

i think doing even that much would be considered tampering, not sure but i sure as hell wouldnt want to lose any draft choices because we spoke to a guy before we were supposed to.

I too think it will be Spags in the end...which I am a fan of. If you want blitzing and want Gholston in his natural position you should also like spags.

As for people saying we can't switch from the 3-4 to the 4-3...thats just ludicrous. It is much harder to go from a 4-3 to a 3-4.

Also, the only player who REALLY fits the mold of a 3-4 defense is Calvin Pace. He can play in the 4-3 too.

I wouldn't hate Shchott. People forget that in 2006 he was a beast. 2007 we were an awful team. This past year he had the old man chucking 22 picks.

I think Schott would be nice, but I would prefer Spags.

Yeah, Woody is in a lose-lose situation here.

    1. Hire Schotty Jr. -> fans will riot.
    2. Hire someone else -> fans will say he only cares about PSLs because he didn't want to piss off fans.

I still think anyone still talking about D fronts hasn't been paying much attention to the league.

Spags runs a 4-3, but the Giants use many fronts. He doesn't run a Ravens style hybrid, but theres a reason why 6'7 255 Kiwinuka is at LBer. Spags comes from a family that still believes all D players should be able to do everything well, and I don't think his D would change much on our D.

And for the guy who said the only player we have who really fits the 3-4 is Pace...no. Jenkins seemed to do fine in it. Ellis did fine in it. Coleman is best as a 3-4 end. Etc.

I think too many people spend too much simplifying shit for themselves and others. Spags D is more than just a straight 4-3, just like the Eagles D isn't just a straight 4-3. These D's rely on the basics...a pass rush and disguised coverages...the front doesn't matter. It's why I never got why people got so up in arms about our 3-4 here...

I think both Spags and Ryan would have a decent transition here, though both would be hurt significantly by leaving D's with as much talent as theirs.

If Schotty becomes head coach he will stop calling plays right? I could be for that.
