Because he is on the Jets' flagship station and does a general sports show from 2 (starting Monday) through 7. This is a big NY sports story you know.
Happy to see Eric land another job. The Jets search is all over the place. They fired Eric without having a plan in place.Woody fired Eric.Mr.T was keeping Eric.
ESPN would be doing themselves a huge a favor if they fired Michael Kay and let Don LaGreca take over with Greg Buttle. That would make for a much better few hours of radio every day.
I thought it was a big Cleveland story but whatever. I'm surprised Kay could get any sports job. In fact I have thought for years the Yankees should fire him too.
I cannot believe anyone believes this guy will succeed in Cleveland. This guy is not HC material - He will fail miserably And I cannot believe anyone would root for him or wish him well , under his lead this team is now fucked for years.
Hey, whatever. Maybe he'll do well. He has time to improve. He just didn't earn the right to improve with us.
Kay waxing about how mean and vile the press and people have gotten in this country. This guy who was so disgusted by how Herm left that he called Herm a liar and wouldn't let Herm on to address Kay's issues with him, until the Jets played the Chiefs this past year. This is a guy that constantly takes shots at Mike Mussina, Joe Torre, people who work at the competitor's station, etc.
He is not a terrible coach, some bad decisions this year, and he probably learned from them. He will do well there I am thinking, there is talent on that team.
Eh, he is the former Jet coach, so Kay probably thought it would be good to steer the conversation in that direction to continue the should Mangini have been fired or not conversation, simply because he got hired by another team. I think this is where being a flagship station kind of hurts because clearly Kay thought it was a service to Jet fans to change the direction of the show because it is the Jets station.
the fact that he said he was interested in talking to the Jets about the position kind of reveals the fact that he was interested in it. to what extent, who knows, but his interest in not debatable. whether he interviewed or not becomes irrelevant to the discussion.
Mangini never put his coordinators in check. Not all of it was him alone. You have to think how they survived (for now) and he didn't. He's gaining two Potentially good Quarter backs and somewhat of a functioning Offense. Do I hear Trade?????????
It'll be a relatively quick and painless one. Derek Anderson blows chunks. He's scared shitless of an NFL pass rush. He's a nice guy to have chuck it downfield to Edwards and Winslow when protection is great and all that...but once the going got tough Anderson went bitch.
Mangini and Cleveland perfect together did I also mention the Browns color is brown the same color as shit. Mangini is shit. The man is clueless and lacks emotion. Im glad hes gone good riddans.
Kudos to him for getting another job so soon after a firing. He must have knocked that interview out of the park. Typical of a guy who's all talk.
