I'm glad I'm not a GM my head hurts after reading this thread. but yes 3rd round pick for Favre isn't bad. If you want to cry about something then you should cry your eyes out over losing Abraham. We got back squat for a premier pass rusher but he wanted out and we had no choice. Reminds me of how Manny screwed the soxes not to say Abraham was even close to Manny just that you get screwed when a talented guy wants out.

Jets would never go back to the 4-3, y create a 3-4 team all these years and change it back for vilma

Hey you know how we can't trade Favre to certain teams or we lose 1st rounders?

Did that only apply to last year or can we now trade Favre to i.e. the Vikings?

I'm almost positive we could get a 2nd rounder from the Vikings

you couldn't get a tackling dummy for Favre at this point in a trade.

We got a 1st rounder for Abraham, 29th overall, which we turned into pro-bowler Nick Mangold.
Abraham is a bum with no heart, and cannot defend the run. That was one of the best moves this FO made.
A 3rd rounder for Favre isn't bad. We took a gamble, it did not work.

It's amusing that some of you are saying giving up a third round pick for a starting QB isn't bad. I'd say it is bad since he looks like a failed one year experiment who in all reality shouldn't even be a starting QB anymore. Even if he plays next year your team got fleeced.

Maybe would go back to a 4-3 if Spags was the coach. Would love to get Vilma back then.

If he retires this offseason, we get a 2010 7th round pick.

If we had made it to the SB and given the Packers our 1st round pick AND Favre retired after 1 year, then we would have gotten a 2010 5th rounder from them.

I know it is complicated but those are the stipulations.

I forgot we got Mangold with that pick that's not so bad. What I was thinking was that its not easy finding a quality proven pass rusher and this year you could see what happens without a pass rush. Btw, Abraham had a nice year for the Falcons.
