You can't defend yourself now. Cowher and Shanahan won't come. Guess they've been around long enough to know that you suck and you would suck to work for. Parcelles was around for a year and He decided that you suck too. He did not want any thing to do with you. First we tried the Herm Edwards experiment. And he quit. Then we get a guy that you figured learned enough from a real pro, and then suddenly he ain't no good. So after getting half way to a final product with this guy, you decide that the all star QB is more important. How do you tie the coaches hands with this guy Favre. He had to play him. You'd have it no other way. Of course the coach lost the locker room. You stole it from him. The only reason people wanted his head is because of the slide after the 8 and 3 start. Oh what expectations we had. Then Favre decided not to show up against Denver and you won't let Mangini bench him. Maybe he wouldn't have but he did not even have a choice. We lost a good coach. Maybe people can't see it yet but Eric was a good coach and he will show everyone once he lands the job in Cleavland. So now what dummy? Now what? Start again? Yeah sign Spagnoula. Another rookie. Whats that? 3? Ok. Just sell the team and do everyone a favor and let another rich man run this organization. Maybe you should learn a thing or two from some winners. Do you know Robert Kraft? What about Jerry Jones? Hell, theres a guy or two in your building that knows what it means to own a team. Check out the Maras. Hey Woody! Drop Dead you jerk.
Everyone was saying that the people at the top are to blame for the collapse of the team (referring to Mangini) but I'm thinking the very top is to blame.
Nobody was bitching and moaning when the Jets traded for Favre. Everyone always complained how cheap Woody is. Well he went out this offseason and spent a ton of money to improve this team. 90 percent of this board wanted Chad gone long before Favre's name ever came up. The same morons who cheered when Chad got hurt last year all love him now.
I never wanted Favre here. I know he was going to slow down the progression of our QBs and our team. Now look how set back are now. No coach, no QB of the future, and everybody seems to be disgruntled. If we didn't get Favre we may or may have not made the play offs but it would give our team a chance to play and see where we stand. Now we have kind of an idea at least on the defensive side but on the offensive side it seems lost with Favre at the helm.
Exactly, I find this very hypocritical and comical. Plus, who's to say that if he did sell the team, the new owners would be just as bad or worse.
No it isn't. Not at all. Johnson is still the cheapest asshole in sports. He spent 150 million because that gave him the chance to make 300 million on PSLs. Once they are sold he will dump everybody making big money and go back to the cheap asshole he always was.
Hi, I'm Woody Johnson, this post has made me think everything over. You're right man, I'll sell the team. Thanks for opening up my eyes. I'll make sure you will be the next HC by the way, no matter who buys the team. Best wishes
Woody, if you can't cancel your vacation, sell the team Woody, it is so obvious that the Jets are just you little toy and that you never had to work a day in your life and have had everything handed to your on a silver platter. I am not sure if you realize it or not buy your franchise is the laughing stock of the NFL and is currently being run by a lawyer who then migrated into doing overseeing the cap and then became your GM and threw Mangini under the bus when the going got tough. 95 percent of the Jets fans would cancel their vacation if the company they owned had similar issues that needed to be addressed. Buy not you. Please, do us all a favor and sell this team to someone who cares.
Totally disagree. Give me some examples where you know for a FACT Woody was being cheap. As far as I'm concerned, Tanny/Bradway were responsible for signing players and their related contracts. So if you feel they were handcuffed, provide proof where Woody told them not to spend. Otherwise, that falls directly on the GM. Woody gave Tuna a blank check to stay, but he opted to retire for the 99th time. He payed Herm/EM what they were worth. Actaully on hind sight, he overpaid for both of them. He built a state of the art practice facility, which has nothing to do with selling PSL's. He tried to build a stadium in NYC but the politicians wouldn't allow it. I'm not saying Woody is a great owner, but he's certainly not cheap.
ITS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its not about the money. Its about the guy who is making the decisions!!!!!! Whos running this mess???!!!!! Woody Johnson. What the Fuck does he know about about foot ball?????!!!!!!!!!!!! What does Tannenbaum know about running an NFL team!!!!!>??????? He's a lawyer...... How come all these veteran coaches are running. Parcelles ran away. Hell even Herman ran away. Mangini would have run away too if he'd had some success. Oh.. now word has it that the primadona is leaning towards staying retired. Please.
I'd be all for getting us some ownership that understands football. But Woody isn't so bad. He's better than Leon Hess ever was. Things could be a lot worse. Jim Dolan / Cablevision could own the team.
