At the end of the year when the stats say you are top 10. Then you are top 10.

I agree with all of that, but this year Chad has finished as a top 10 QB. Now we get to see how deep he can take his team. I've always felt top 15... but this year he raised the bar.

I went back and read the full thread, including people a year ago listing QBs they would put ahead of CP. Here's an example:

I bolded the ones that look questionable now. That's not meant as a criticism of the previous poster--a lot of those guys would have been on my list if I had done it a year ago. But things sure can change in a hurry in this league.

Pennington was never an elite quarterback, nor was he ever a mediocre qb. He falls into that gray area between the two.

Other than Collins you are being pretty delusional with this assessment, talent wise he isn't nearly as good asthe other 5 guys that you listed

Even stats say if he is than he is fringe top 10, depending on how you weigh the different statistics

I'd take Pennington over big ben or Collins in a heartbeat, and also Delhomme. IMO, aside from Warner, the other 4 are close.

The answer is simple. Yes he is a top 10 QB right now, and has everything to prove it.
Stats, MVP votes, wins, a complete team resurrection, team respect, leadership, and just overall smart good play.
The league changes quick. Injuries to QB's, or their O lineman can change everything in an instant. The key for Pennington, and most QB's, is keeping healthy.

Hmm...maybe it's because they kept the ball as far away from his hands as often as they could this year and only made him touch it when they couldn't figure out another way to implement the wildcat.

    lol. Facts state otherwise.
Top 10 in passing yds, 2nd in rating, and 1st in accuracy. He was healthy, good, and turned an organization around.
My point is who knows what next year will bring? Injuries is and always was the biggest concern with Chad.
For a lot of Jet fans, it will just never be enough until we win a championship.
    It's a rightfully frustrated lot.

Oh come on. You don't have to love the guy, but you don't have to make sh!t up either.

Come on now, Warner McNabb Collins are old goats. I am not so impressed with Eli. If CP had his supporting cast he would deliver just as well, same with Rothlisberger.
