I am scared shitless that Brian Schottenheimer could get hired as our new HC. His father could surely help him out (coach him up) on the whole interview process. IMO, if we don't get an experienced and proven winner for the new HC, we should have just kept Mangini.
I think they're just giving them a chance since they did say they're going to look EVERYWHERE. There's NO WAY they're hiring either of them though. The fanbase would revolt.
yeah...i would assume Callahan & Schotty jr. are getting courtesy interviews....i wouldn't read much into it.
As they should. I don't have a problem with them interviewing these guys at all. I'm just scared shitless that BS will somehow convince them that he's there man.
Schotty: I sucked as an Offensive Coordinator. Given good coordinators often make shitty Head Coaches, doesn't that suggest I would be an excellent Head Coach? Woody: Infallible logic! You're hired.
argh Woody: So what was the deal with all those spread formation passes on 3rd and short this season Brain? BS: I heart Brett Favre. Woody: Me too, but wouldn't it be prudent to run the ball with one of our outstanding RB's/FB's behind that offensive line I've dumped so much money into? BS: All due respect Mr. Johnson, that's beside the point. I heart Brett Favre! Woody: Fuck Yeah!
Well if we keep bleeding internal controversy and players keep expressing internal strife's that are going on , we will attract no one. If I had to take a guess , it will Be Callahan as Head coach and a new Offensive Coordinator and defensive coordinator.
Callahan is probably 50/50 to be the next head coach the way things are developing. Schotty gets pushed out the door unless he and Callahan have chemistry and a new DC is hired to run the 3-4.
Why not Sutton then, Schotts is abotu as great a prospect, hahaha, Callahan deserves it more than Shotts just by being less tied to Mangini

BS: All due respect Mr. Johnson, the other teams usually expect a team to run on 3rd or 4th and short, and to pass on 3rd and long, but it's too predictable to play to your team's strengths. See, with my football mind, I know what the other team expects and so I try to fool them by doing just the opposite. For example, nobody in the stadium figured we'd try a 40 yard pass on 4th and 1 on our last possession... especially with the whole season on the line. Woody: Infallible logic! You're hired.
Just reacting to the apparent chaos so far. The longer it takes the Jets to find their guy the more likely they get the wrong one. Callahan would be a February hire is my guess and he'd definitely be the wrong one.
If BS or Callahan makes HC, I will not watch a single game all of 2009. I'm not saying that I won't keep up with the scores on NFL.com. But I will not subject myself to watching that kind of "In Game Decision Making". WTF!!!!!!!!
I'd love Brian to be the head coach. I mean, aren't all the teams without a coach lining up to interview him. Damn, his appointment book much be crowded.
I think this is sarcasm ... at least I hope. Schotty should be demoted to QB coach where he had a lot of success with the Chargers (Brees, Rivers).
If we should have kept Mangini then why was everyone going crazy to fire him? This board highly confuses me sometimes.
What's so confusing? Why should my opinion be the same as the majority on this board? I said the same before he was fired. Actually what I said before he was fired is that if we cannot get Cowher we should stick with Mangini. Now that he has been fired, I'll be extremely upset if we end up with another rookie coach.
