The Jets going to bring this guy in? According to Monte Kiffin he is the real deal. Supposedly a protege of Mike Tomlin. I know he isn't a experienced HC but unfortunately at the very least the interview will cover the Rooney Rule. Does anyone know anything about him? See attached link:

No more defensive backs coaches from Tampa Bay with no coordinator experience please.

agreed we need a guy with some experience as a coordinator at least. I still couldnt believe they hired Herm when he had no coodinator experience... but thats not the problem any more we have many guys to look at, and we need to find the right one to make this franchise take the next step. Just because I am rooting like mad for Rex Ryan, doesnt mean I wouldn't want the Jets to cover every possibilty before deciding on their hire.

I would not be interested in anything that came from the Tampa Bay Bucs.

I agree, I was just throwing it out there. I hate this stuff, so many people (media) are putting information out "according to a league, team, person familiar with the situation sources," you don't know what is the truth.

Morris was the Tampa Bay defensive backs coach in 2008. He is from Irvington, NJ and played safety at Hofstra.

Morris had a job with the Jets in 2001, probably as defensive quality control. I don't know what his official title was that year because Morris didn't make it into the 2001 NFL Record & Fact Book. I'm assuming Herman Edwards brought Morris aboard sometime in the late spring or in the summer after the book went to publication. If someone has a 2001 Jets yearbook it might not be in there, either. Morris may have made it into the 2001 Jets media guide, however.

Morris joined the Bucs staff in 2002. His title was defensive quality control.

Tomlin spent only one year as a defensive coordinator (2006 with Minnesota).

We all would feel more comfortable if Morris had one year as a DC under his belt. That said, he is highly thought of and will be an NFL head coach within 3 years, possibly as early as this year.
