A couple of years ago, I purchased a Jonathan Vilma Jersey for $80 at Champs sporting goods. I was very happy with my purchase, the name and numbers were stitched on. It was reebok, and had the NFL shield on the collar. And the rest of the material was shiny and silky. Not long ago, a gave my Jersey to my brother, because I wanted a Brett Favre Jersey.(Regardless of what most Jet fans currently think of Brett Favre, he is still a sure hall of famer, and I wanted my teams jersey with his name on it.) I purchased a Brett Favre Jersey on ebay for $50, and I just recieved it yesterday. I thought it was going to be like my last jersey, but it was a little different. The letters and Numbers were stitched on like the Vilma jersey, and the sleeves, and Neck area appeared to be of the same shiny silky material as the Vilma Jersey, but unlike the Vilma jersey, the rest of the shirt wasn't the same material, it was like Mesh, and not of the same shiny material. The collar had the NFL logo, the ticket had the NFL hologram, and it said reebok, on field. on the sides, and neck was elastic, it could be stretched. On the Vilma jersey the bottom right had the size XXL, this one had the size, but it said size 54. Now my question is: Did i get my moneys worth? Is the Jersey of better quality, or worse than my last Vilma jersey?
Based on what you said about your previous jersey, it sounds like it could've been a "Premium". These are halfway between a replica and an authentic jersey. Basically, the premium jersey offer you almost what the authentics do at a cheaper price. The new one you just purchased sounds like it could be an authentic, based on the fact that the size is a 54 instead of listed as XL. Anyway, I'd still be weary, because authentics usually don't sell that cheap unless they're fake. We'd need to see pics. Oh, and this is in the wrong forum.
You got ripped off. The new one you got is one of those fake ones from China, and they go for like 19 bucks so you even got ripped on a rip. The sleeves are really small too right? My buddy got a Justin Tuck jersey like that, it's fake.
People are actually paying people to take their Favre jerseys away this week, so paying any price for one is a bad deal.
The middle of the road jersey is a semi-authentic sold at retail stores with stitched on name and numbers. The ones with the decal like name and numbers are the basic jerseys. Reebok authentic jerseys usually retail for about $240. There are many good bootleg fakes being sold anywhere from $19.99-80.00 that the average fan cannot tell the difference. Dont put any of them in the dryer as the name and number will shrink immediately and look rippled as its cotton twill. As much as players change teams unless the player is a legend. Buying an authentic for $240 is crazy. Beleieve me I have wasted alot of $$$ doing so in the past. I know purchase the bootleg Reebok fakes I just look for the best ones.
