Earlier this year (soon to be last year) Favre wanted to come back to the packers. They declined, and the Jets traded for him. Practicly everyone was exited until week 11. Where apparently, Favre was forced on this team, but instead according to you all, he came here just to ruin the team. I keep hearing " He's ruining out team" or "He's a selfish jerk" or "He's holding the team hostage" Do you people realize he didn't even want to come here. He just wanted to play football.

Maybe you people forget but it was THE JETS who got Favre, Even if he was the worse thing to ever happen to this franchise, it is not even his fault. So how is he "selfish" for going long with plans against his own will to help a team.

I'm fine with people saying he sucks and such but I can't stand to keep seeing this crap that people are saying without any reasons.

It was partly his fault because of his awful play and because he just couldn't stay retired. There are plenty of retired players out there who most likely want to keep playing but for one reason or another they just can't do it. Most people know when to throw in the towel, Favre isn't one of them. Some like to compare him to Cal Ripken: the NFL's ironman; but at this point he's more like Ricky Henderson, he just can't let go. That's why he's selfish.

I don't think that makes him selfish just because he wants to play again.

The selfish thing was playing with a torn arm muscle. If he was truely that hurt that it effected his proformence he should have let his back up step in. Sometimes you need to man up when you are hurting your team and take yourself out.

He's taking a roster spot away from someone when the most he has going for him is his reputation and not his abilities. He knows that he can still get a job because he's Brett Favre and no one out there would dare and refuse him. Look at how many QBs outperformed him this year and tell me it was worth it. He ranked 21/32 in passer rating and was 32/32 in the league with interceptions. He tried to play through an injury which severely effected his already diminished ability to play the game and became a liability to this team. It wasn't heroic, it was stupid; and don't try and tell me he was forced to come to this team. If he didn't want to play for the Jets he could have easily sat out and not cost anyone a damn thing aside from a fourth round pick. He needs to learn to give it up. The Green Bay Packers will survive without him, the NFL will survive without him, and, OMG, someday he'll learn that he can survive without the NFL.
