Yeah, this was baffling. That whole "let's drop everyone into coverage" was a joke. So many players weren't utilized correctly this year, and that's on coaching.

Pace, Leon & Keller being the biggest ones.

This forum might be the most depressing place on the internet at the minute lol

I don't see why they won't interview him, that seems a little strange, I'm still on the Spags train though. After Strahan retired and Umi went don't, many said that the Giants would find it difficult to generate a pass rush, they finished 6th in the NFL (We were 7th, so not bad)

I think we have all the ingredients for a great defense, 3-4 or 4-3. We saw how good we COULD be in the 3-4 early in this year, and I think our LB's now have the size and speed for a 4-3, interchanging Pace as a DE. And no one is talking about Ryan, who has one of the best Defenses in the NFL for the past decade. I don't want Spags...I've said this before, we are a veteran team, who knows how to play. We just need guidance and organization from a person who has been there before. We don't need a RAH RAH guy yelling at them all the time, and this is why I don't think Cowher was a great choice. I think Marty and Shanny would be great...they know what to do, how to do it, and when to do it. Yeah, they get pissed, but when you deserve it. They are great leaders, and this is what the team needs. This is a veteran team, who needs a LEADER...(and a playmaking WR, and a CB, and proven pass rusher). So I don't want another experimental head coach...I want someone who has done it before, and been to the big games.

It's way easier to transition from the 3-4 to the 4-3 than the other way around.

Yeah like he is a winner and he owns the Cheatriots, I have no idea why you wouldn't want one of the only coaches in the league that can go toe to toe with the Chicken.

So, there quite possibly could be 3 super bowl winning coaches on the market this year. Cowher, Shanahan and Parcells. Most likely the Jets will end up with none of them and there will still be people here singing the praises of whoever is the coach and this front office for years to come.

Jerry Jones doesn't believe in paying coaches a ton of money. He isn't going there.

So I guess everyone will be putting Spagnuolo in their avatars now?

Shanahan wants control, anybody who thinks he'd get that in Dallas is out of their mind. I feel bad for Wade Phillips as I'm sure he wants to discipline some of the animals he has on that team and Jones steps in and just throws more money at them. You want to talk about dysfunction, that ship is sinking worse than the Jets and they just continue to throw gasoline on the fire.

As it has been mentioned earlier, Spagnolla wouldn't be a right fit.

If we got Schotty, we would be having the same arguement that we can't get out of the first round.

Shanahan would be the best choice, as long as we let him develop a system. We might finally be able to use leon properly.

They asked Shanahan if he would demand complete control, and he said No.
I also thought of him in Dallas.

Woody isn't going to let any coach develop anything. If we don't win consistently and immediately, he will move on to the next disaster.

I know, for some reason I keep hoping for next year things might change.

Seriously this is bullshit. If they don't at least investigate what Shanahan would bring to the organization and what his plan would be then this whole search needs to get fucked because its a sham.

Plus the Rooney rule candidate. Hopefully they take it seriously and audition either the Vikings DC Leslie Frazier.

If Marty-ocrity is the next head coach of the NY Jets then we are fucked big time.

When are you people going to realize that first time coaches do not work in NY? Screw Spagnuolo.

Eh, Shanahan hasn't been nearly the same coach without Elway as he was with Elway. The Broncos had a more monumental collapse than the Jets this year! I really don't believe in Shanahan. Would prefer another untested new coach with potential like Spags.
