According to WFAN (joe & evan), Woody says that it is not a set in stone that Favre has to be the QB, next season.
    GOD i hope that's true.
Supposedly it was reported in NEWSDAY. Sorry, i don't have a link.

That means that earlier Cowher report is bullshit. He wouldn't have coached the Jets with or without Favre.

It means that Woody is shitting triangles. He's not in a real good position right now from a negotiating point of view.

Even if he capitulates to Cowher by letting Farve walk AND removes Tanny from the GM seat, what message does that send to Cowher? What message would that send to Tanny? The Team?

Woody would be in a horrible position if he truly wanted to remain an involved owner. He'd sign the checks and get sent back to his owner's box. Tanny would always be just a bit resentful of Cowher and in the long run, would have to move on. Probably sooner than later. God forbid the Cowher experiment fails. ....

This is becoming almost a perfect fricken storm...

Or that Woody is going to do everything in his power to get Cowher.

Cowher's ploy is working. Woody is showing his cards and will do whatever it takes to get him.

King is saying that Shanahan is a great fit for the Jets... "VERY competitive."

Beningo is asking King if the Jets need an experienced guy... Shanahan over Spags, for example. King said he doesn't agree.. look at Sparano in Miami, for example. But King also points out the Shanhan has a great record against the Patriots... something like 8-3 or somewhere in there, if memory serves as to the conversation.

He said that Shanahan is also a good fit with Favre for now, with the West Coast Offense... thinks Favre would be fine wioth a coach like Shanahan. He points out that Shanahan "has a liot of fire" and his firing will only "ignite the fire even more," because he'll want to go out and prove that Denver made a big mistake in firing him. King said Shanahan "loves to work 20-hour days"... he just loves to coach and prepare so much.

Peter King is the king of media hacks. Don't even give the guy air time. Just shut off your radio or TV and cause the ratings to plummet when he is on.

Yeah King is the king of contradictions, and is really pushing us hard on getting another first year guy.

That's because he wants to be able to continue to talking down to the Jets while blowing New England.

I'm beginning to feel the same way. It's going to be day after day of a zillion rumors until a move is finally made. Just wake us up when it's over and we can start bitching then.

I'd take Ainge over Favre. At least he wants to be here.
