Did peer pressure lead to Mangini's firing?

In these economic times the fans actually matter. NFL football tickets, PSL's and football Jersey's and other official NFL crap is discretionary spending. Nobody can't live without it and the Jets are in danger of Nobody showing up with checks for 20G's for the right to renew their season tickets. Plenty of people can't renew without PSL's and the back logged waiting list is mostly a mirage because those people can't cough up the dough either.

The Jets are in a position of lossing a fortune of money and having a half empty new stadium in the biggest most important market for the NFL, CBS and their sponsors. The pressure to win right now is enormous and management and the league are well aware of it. This isn't peer pressure this is basic economics.

I think he was fired for the collapse in '08. We were 8-3 and we had our destiny in our own hands. We played BAD and lost to four beatable teams (should have lost to five). Mangini's tactical decision making went south. He was pulling some real "WTFs?" in SF and Seattle. I was starting to wonder about him then. It was like he was cracking under the pressure.
