    Are

    1) Jon Gruden (If fired from Tampa) because I think this guys fire and high energy is just what this team needs....He's also a damn good coach...I know Tampa did what the Jets did but in that case I really do not feel its reflective of the coach....He has proven he is a winner....

    2) Brian Billick -- I love this guys defensive mind and he's also pretty vocal....His offensive...I'd like to see what he can do with our defense as well as give him a chance with an above average offense...He also has a ring....

    3) Romeo Crenell - The guy is a good coach IMO...He knows how to call a game...He's just been coaching the Browns who couldn't build a team if their lives depended on it...Under Crenell the Browns has seemed as though they were about to break the playoff barrier but the Front Office didn't put those extra pieces in place...He's a team guy who runs a 3 - 4...Granted a NE guy but he's removed enough at this point...

    Not on the list:

Bill Parcells - As a head coach I think his days are over....He really hasn't put a champion on the field coaching in a while....He sure as hell can turn around a franchise though...Thing is this franchise doesn't need a ressurection it needs someone to take charge....Not that Parcells can't take charge he sure as hell can...Just not in the way the Jets need...Parcells is sure to remove guys and implant Parcells guys....Which is fine but I think for the most part this team doesn't need subtraction but rather addition...

Marty Schotts -- His conserative offensive attack will demoralize us and remind us of Paul Hackett....He's also a known choke artist....You don't counter a collapse by hiring a choke artist....

Steve Spags - While I think he is a great defensive coordinator, the Jets should not move in this direction...That will make the 3rd head coach in a row with zero HC experience all thought to be defensive minded....Granted Spag's is not Herm or Mangini by any means, however the Jets brought in Mangini to emulate the Pats....To bring in Spag's is to live in the Giants shadow...Something this team does not need confidence wise....The Jets need a guy with experience and a guy not from across the hall....

Jets need to bring in a coach with a ring...Its imperative...

Ummm Billick was the offensive coordinator for the Vikings before being the Ravens head coach. That defense had little to do with him. Pass. You want a defensive mind, how about Rex Ryan?

Will the Buccaneers even make such a move in firing Jon Gruden? I do not see that happening unless Gruden himself wants out.

The Bucs are not the Jets.

Believe it or not, the rest of this league doesn't think firing everyone is the solution to "only" winning 9 games when you "should have" won the Super Bowl. The Bucs let down this year, but they're young as hell and the likeliness of them doing that kind of shit again next year is...well it's just not likely.

And Brian Billick was considered an offensive genius...not a defensive genius...the Ravens happened to have some sick talent and sick coordinators while he was there.

And what does a past ring have to do with anything?

Man, Those two guys would be at the bottom of my list. They are both horrible.

no i don't i just post on here for shits and giggles....

My point is I think the Jets should look beyond the obvious....

I stand corrected on Billick....I always had the impression he was a total defensive guy...either way I still want him...

I'm not sure if I would agree that Gruden is a horrible coach. He is an intense individual that is a proven winner.

a past ring means you have been there and gotten it done...it carries weight in the league...it also gives you experience many others dont....people tend to believe in someone who has won it all over someone who hasnt...it also brings a champions attitude to the table...something the jets haven't had in a long time...

if cowher didn't win that SB do we all pop wood talking about him? probably not...in fact we probably say he coached for what is it 13 years and no ring? I'll pass...I guarentee it...

    seriously i dont get it....

gruden is an awsome coach and I would love to have him coaching the Jets...

you want youth there it is? but heres the kicker...hes a firecracker, is a coach of all aspects of the game, his players love him and fear him at the same time, and HE WAS WON A CHAMPIONSHIP....he won a championship with one of the most ridiculous franchises in the history of the NFL...the Buc's...

Bringing in a champion QB and a guy from a championship winning organization didn't seem to do much for this franchise.

What this franchise needs is to grow some balls.

I live in Tampa – Jon Gruden is absolutely horrible. He hasn’t won a playoff game since he dismantled Dungy’s team after the SB and I think he made the playoffs 2 out of six seasons. Another offensive genius that can’t score more points than Monte’s defense.

I’m sure any Bucs fan would gladly drive Gruden to the meadowlands if it meant getting rid of him. No thanks.

A great example would be the 2008 49ers. Crappy under Mike Nolan and competitive under Mike Singletary. Have you read what the players are saying about Singletary? They absolutely love the guy.

From what I've read today, the Jets players really loved Mangini as well (http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2008/12/jets_players_sad_to_see_mangin.html#more).

Players loved Herm as well, so what's your point?

Let me ask you a question, how many Super Bowl winning head coaches have gone on from the team they won the Super Bowl with to another team and brought that team a ring. I can't think of one. But even if there is one, compare that to the number of coaches that win a Super Bowl, leave that team and fail to win another with another team.

The Bucs fired Dungy after a 9-7 season...And making the Playoffs 4 of 6 seasons ...Yes, Gruden won in 2002, however that was a defense completely built by Dungy and Kiffen..

I agree, I don't know 1 Buc fan that likes Gruden. This post is 100% true, pass on 'chucky'

Chris Baker and Pete Kendall clearly did not like him and I'm sure there's more.

I thought my point was clear. A fellow posted something about players having a tendency to respect head coaches who won big as players or coaches.

I pointed out one example of a team that clearly gave a better effort for such a person.

    Shiny new coach syndrome.

See how much they love him after a while. It's easy to love someone who hasn't been around so long. At one point NY fans and media referred to Mangini as "Mangenius."

Jets fans really need to stop being taken for the ride they're being taken on. It's embarrassing. It's all one vicious cycle...we'll all love our new coach 'til he fucks up...the top organizations are the ones that realize that people fuck up and shit happens.
