Boldin is 14 times coles' size. Boldin knows how to run a route. Boldin has way better hands. Other than that, theyre basically the same player
I feel these players need to GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Brett Favre Ty Law David Barrett Bubba Franks Tony Richardson Laveranues Coles But we have to ask, if we do not draft a quarterback, then who do we pick up? And then do we hold on to Kellen Clemens? As far as a new coach maybe, Jim Fassel, Bill Cowher, Brian Billick, Rex Ryan, and Mike Holmgren.

1) Most of the drops in this game were from Favre either over-throwing or under-throwing so today's game isn't a good way to evaluate the WR play. 2) Forget Coles being a whiny malcontent for a minute, let's focus on what he brings to this team: everything that Cotchery brings to the table plus a bit more speed an a larger cap number. We already have the same WR in Cotchery who is younger, stronger, and, thanks to the timing in his contract, cheaper. We have two #2 wideouts and we need a tall, deep threat as a #1 and if we have to get rid of either Coles or Cotchery, Coles is the one who has to go. Ok, so you want to bring in a coach who announced he is retiring at the end of the season and is the only coach that's incentive for the first guy on your list to come back to this team.
Okay but this isn't The Replacements. You can't cut half your D and expect to have a good D next year. That doesn't make any sense.
Bump. With all of the talk about cap space and possible FA signings I thought it would be useful to bring this up to reopen discussions and I didn't want to start the same thread again.
D. Coleman Favre Ty Law Barrett Eric Smith and/or Elam Franks Poteat Nuge or Feely, don't care which B. Thomas can go K. Coleman can go D'Brick and Faneca can go if we find decent replacements Bowens might make a decent backup, but I wouldn't miss him edit: maybe not d'brick
D'Brick could be replaced, but its not going to happen because there are much more dire needs to be handled right now. Why Faneca? He's been solid. Fine he can't pass block, but Mangold and D'brick can, no way this happens. I don't want Elam to go, give him another shot hes young. He also somehow has a knack for getting the football. I prefer Nugent goes than Feely. Eric Ainge has to go. I hate Mosley and Pouha they both suck, get a real NT to back up Jenkins.
I can agree with that one. As for right now I'd add: Barrett Barton B. Smith (trick play act is old) E. Smith D. Coleman Hodges I'd like to see Kenyon Coleman back but at severely reduced pay and if I remember correctly, Thomas had a good bit of guaranteed money left on his contract so it would be better if we could instead find a trading partner. If not, cut him. Also, I'd love to put Favre on this list but if he goes to the Vikings under any circumstance from our roster than we owe the Packers three first round picks so that's definitely not an option. Good list except Law, Franks, and Poteat were here on 1 year contracts which will expire before the FA period. No need to cut them. I don't understand the Brick hate for a guy who only gave up 2 sacks but Faneca has been a disappointment in his pass protection and I don't see him getting any better with age.
dude, are you serious? our oline is pretty stout...they gelled pretty well for their first season as a unit.
Barrett Both Colemans Favre Lowery Mangold Leon Washington Eric Barton Marques Murrell Cotchery Erik Ainge Eric Mangini Mark Mangino Mark May Cato June Kelvin Cato
I thought Hodges was good for us this year. I don't have a problem going forward with him if there aren't any other solid punters available. I also think Brad Smith could be a great asset if used the right way but so far so not good. Either way, he's worth keeping around for special teams. The rest of the guys on your list are definitely expendable.
I dont get it, in one sentence Brick can be replaced and in the next he cant? For the life of me I do not understand why this fanbase wants to get rid of one the most improved hardest working players on the team? He is not a great run blocker but is among the best pass protectors in the league. Did you guys actually watch the games this year?
I don't think they need to go, but in my opinion they're the weakest links on our o-line, Faneca in particular. So like I said, if we can find good replacements I wouldn't mind too much seeing them go. Edit: I might be wrong about D'Brick.. I tried to pay attention to our o-line this season, but seeing the support he's getting, I may have misjudged him.
