We should hose down the field and turn the place into an ice rink so Ronnie Brown and Ricky can't run and put cramp ons on Leon Washington's sneakers.

This message board is just awful this week. I'm tired of people talking about the "worst game in jets history" as if it already happened and it was 70-0. I'm tired of people playing the blame game with the team. All I see on this forum is stuff about if Mangini should be fired, or if Coles should be traded , or whether Favre was worth it. Think about the next week like you would have 5 weeks ago, when there was something to play for, when the Jets could still go to the playoffs, oh wait, THEY STILL CAN.
Remember the 4th down TD pass from Favre in the Dolphins game in the beginning of the season. remember the miraculous comeback at the end of the bills game. Remember the titans! (pun intended). Stop acting as if it is the end of the season, or like your lives as a Jets fan is dreary and terrible. I usually rooted for the packers, we had a devastating loss to the Giants in the playoffs last year, but we did not sulk about it (well most of us didn't) We didn't try to blame it on someone, because the blame goes around, no matter what. We looked to next year. But you guys, you guys are not out yet, it isn't that hard to understand.
Because Brett Favre, Dustin Keller, Laverneus Coles, and Cotchery are all the same people form the titans game, the New England game and others. And you may think that we're all finished now because we're doing worse. You may say our only win in Buffalo in the past 4 games was very close. If you didn't realize though: that didn't go into overtime unlike our NE win, which was only a week before we beat the titans, we've been the same Jets all year long, people just want to make themselves think it's not gonna end well, because for some strange reason, people want it to end badly. If that's not what you think, then you should check back over your posts, because that's the message your sending.
I read through some threads, and by the time i got up, i though " I shouldn't even bother to watch the game" And then I looked back at the situation, in non pessimistic ways, and saw how possible it actually is. So stop getting angry at people because it's over, BECAUSE IT'S NOT. So, if you still don't want to watch the game, and just skip to discussing how to fire Mangini, or get rid of Coles, then why don't you leave the gang green, and move to Detroit, because the way you're speaking, the Jets are obviously doing worse, right?
So the question, isn't whther Mangini should be fired for next season, or if the recieveing corps should be all decimated and replaced, no the true question is: do you want to win next week, and do you want to go to the playoffs, because no other players, and no other fans can answer that, only you can. So what's the answer gonna be, ya giving up, or giving it a fight.

If its 4th and 4, with the game on the line, don't bomb it down the field.

If I know Favre, he just may, and if I really know Favre, he might just perform a miracle and make it. but of course, he easily can unload 6 yards down and get a 1st.

To the guys that keep saying on 4th and 4 you don't throw a bomb,

Watch the efing tape. Coles was the only one running a route. the other guys were just statues watching Favre scramble, they weren't open! I was disgusted with the effort. The last few games have all been the same crap. Favre looking right, looking left, looking in the middle, looking back right and then unloading a low percentage pass.

This team doesn't know how to run routes. They can't recognize zone coverages and what to do with them.

Coaching staff needs to recognize this and spread out the defense more. 4 and 5 WR and make them play some different coverages. Defenses are just sitting back with 7 and daring Favre to throw into coverage.

One thing about Favre is that he WAS the best at the quick release, reading the defense and getting rid of the ball. You know he'll throw it just about anywhere. So when he holds the ball as much as he has done that last part of this year, tells you that nobody is open. Because if there was the slightest bit of separation, he's going to unload it.

Of course you can avoid all of this by establishing the run and staying comitted to the run, (even if it doesn't work the 1st or 2nd series ) against a bad run defense.

And the favre excuses live on. Maybe farve will go to tampa next year and you can put your energy into telling their fans why its not farves fault for missing open recievers and making bad decisions.

OH MY GOD your so right, when he passed to Laverneus Coles for the great comeback, he was way off. I mean it's not like he passed it right into his arms when it counted. That one was easily Favre's fault, and nobody can argue against it. because you know whose fault it is at all times, you're like the football watching-and-blaming god. 5 weeks back you wouldn't say that, nor would you in the first game, when Favre threw the 4th down td. He has made his mistakes, but so has the team. This is not Favre malfunctioning, this is Favre, AND THE TEAM malfunctioning. How did i know when favre came on, that he was going to be the scape goat. We're not even gone from the playoffs.

5 weeks back I said Favre was the weak spot in our offense and got flamed to the ground. Mostly by GREEN BAY fans like you.

BTW - the "great comeback" would have been downed at the 37 yard line - not the end zone.

Well one surefire strategy against the Miami D is to get in and sit in a spread offense. Having a mobile QB like Cassel or Thigpen is a big plus also. Thankfully the Jets won't be playing spread and Favre is anything but mobile.

If the Jets don't establish the run they are toast. Thomas Jones will need to come up big in this game. Miami struggles against the PA when it struggles against the run. Our DB's aren't exactly great but if the QB is going to sit and sling all day that's a matchup we can easily win(see vs Rivers, Cutler).

You know, I hate groundless exuses for a single player to defend them, but I also hate people making groundless accusations at players.

Nonetheless, however, we are one team no matter what, and the season is not yet over. The time for accusations and exuses will come later.
