January 1 in Quito is summer almost. I believe it to be warmer than 32 degrees. My father was born in Quito by the way. Ive been there several times. Nice place.
Chances are you are right but you wouldn't rather watch them in the playoffs with the slight chance that they go on a run compared to missing the playoffs and no chance?
Let's put it this way. I'm so disgusted it almost doesn't matter. But given a choice between watching the Jets in the playoffs vs. either the Dolphins or Patriots, I'll take the Jets, probably more because I hate the Pats and Dolphs so. But they truly don't deserve it. The caliber of play we've been watching for the past 4 games is deplorable. The playcalling is almost painful to watch... the execution is dismal. The O-line I once thought would provide adequate protection doesn't anymore, and the D-line and entire defense gave their QB so much time in the pocket it was laughable. Then you throw in Brett Freaking Favre, thinking he can roll to the left and throw back across to his right while planting the wrong foot (and into double coverage no less), well.... it's no wonder Boomer Esiason commented last night, "Why would you do that?" Pro Bowl my ass. It doesn't mean a lick unless you're able to play well. Favre should be ashamed to even get on the plane to Hawaii.
Jets win, Patriots win, Ravens win – Patriots and Ravens go to playoffs Jets win, Patriots win, Ravens lose – Patriots and Jets go to playoffs Jets win, Patriots lose, Ravens win – Ravens and Jets go to playoffs Jets win, Patriots lose, Ravens lose – Jets and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots win, Ravens win – Ravens and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots win, Ravens lose – Patriots and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots lose, Ravens win – Ravens and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots lose, Ravens lose – Ravens and Miami go to playoffs Look correct?
You're dreaming. Miami has fought and fought all year to get where they are (a better record than us) even when their post-season was not a reality by far. We were 8-3 in complete control and then it was like the entire team started taking salt peter.
By the way, the response upthread that the Dolphins get the WC if the Jets win and Ravens and Pats lose is incorrect. The Ravens hold the tiebreaker over the Dolphins. Check out the yahoo playoff scenario generator sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario "Baltimore (10-5) is in with a win at home against Jacksonville. The Ravens can also lose and clinch if the Jets beat the Dolphins and the Patriots lose to the Bills."
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUK
You're right, because Baltimore beat Miami in week 7, which is the first wildcard tie-breaker rule (head to head record). Which means Baltimore has a 6 out of 8 chance of going to the playoffs. Miami has a 4 out of 8 chance. Patriots and Jets both have a 3 out of 8 chance. Corrected: Jets win, Patriots win, Ravens win – Patriots and Ravens go to playoffs Jets win, Patriots win, Ravens lose – Patriots and Jets go to playoffs Jets win, Patriots lose, Ravens win – Ravens and Jets go to playoffs Jets win, Patriots lose, Ravens lose – Jets and Ravens go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots win, Ravens win – Ravens and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots win, Ravens lose – Patriots and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots lose, Ravens win – Ravens and Miami go to playoffs Jets lose, Patriots lose, Ravens lose – Ravens and Miami go to playoffs
Simple: If the Jets make it into the playoffs at all, I think it's obvious they found their own way in. Sure, maybe not the way we wanted, but... last I checked, week 17 is no different then week 8. It's still one weekend worth of games, and if we get it in, it's because on the final week we took care of buisness, and teams ahead of us could not. It would also mean that big wins earlier this year allowed us to get in as well. Plain and simple: If the jets get in, they deserve it. They ahve already proven they can play with and beat good teams, and int he same breath play like crap against bad teams. We've already, theoretically, beaten 3 possible playoff teams this season. (Tenn, NE, and Arizona)
