Hey if Arizona wins dropping the Pats to 9-6. Is our game with the Seahawks useless to us in the playoff race? From what I can gather we cannot win the wildcard anymore due to tiebreaker with the Ravens (common games). So the only thing that matters is the divison. If Pats lose to Arizona, it doesn't matter what we do against the Seahawks because if we win against the Phins, we win the division, if we lose, we're out of the playoffs?
Yes, I was just going to post this. If Arizona beats NE the Jet Seattle game means nothing in terms of making the playoffs. We just gotta beat the Dolphins in week 17. The only thing it means is whether we face the Colts or Ravens at home. I guess thats an issue but with the way the Ravens are playing I'm not so sure who I rather play.
I don't think we do because we have the tiebreaker against the Pats if we beat Miami (regardless of what we do in Seattle) and they lose to Arizona (regardless of what they do in Buffalo). Thats according to the Yahoo Playoff Scenerio thing anyway. Also I think we could lose in Seattle, beat Miami and if the Pats lost to Buffalo, we'd win the division too.
There are many ways the Jets and make it but lets just make it simple and win both games. Even if the Pats lose to Arizona(not likely)I want to see the Jets win today. They need to start playing better.
All I know is that losing sucks. I don't want to consider any scenario that involves us losing any more games.
Yes, it does matter...only in terms of seeding. I'm talking about being either the number 3 or 4 seed at this point, between us and denver. But in terms of us winnin the east, if ne loses to arizona, than the jets game does not matter.
Don't even think about Arizona beating the Pats.... Not gunna happen. I just hope the Jets win both games and make the playoffs.
Two wins would also be nice because we'd have some momentum going into the playoffs. Our confidence would take a hit if we lost to the Seahawks.
It means something in terms of seeding, and also in the wildcard. If we win this game, but lose to miami, i believe we would still have a shot at the WC if Baltimore loses. I think it would come down to SOV%.
There is no way Arizona goes into the northeast with the sloppy weather this weekend, with a top receiver (Boldin) extremely questionable, having nothing to play for and beat the Patriots who have to win out just to have a chance, it's very possible they might not even make the playoffs at 11-5! If any game's meaningless to us this weekend it's Miami-KC. No matter what happens there we pass them with a win next week.
The Miami/KC means nothing in terms of the Jets making the playoffs but I think it's in our best interest to root for KC. If the Dolphins lose today and the Jets and Pats win the Fins are in trouble. If the Pats then beat the Bills at 1 PM next week the Dolphins will go into the Sunday Night game against the Jets with NO CHANCE of making the playoffs. I know they will still try but the motivation will not be the same if they can't make the playoffs.
On the other hand if the Phins and NE win and the Jets Lose this week (which is much more likely). Then after NE beats the Bills the game Sunday night will mean the Division for the Phins with a win next week. Bottom Line is The Jets need to win today.

Wait a second--if the pats and fish win and the jets lose, and then next week the pats and fish lose and the jets win, do we not still win the division? That is, any scenario whereby we beat miami in wk 17 and are tied atop the division, we win--right?
