It doesn't matter if KC beats Miami, because even if we beat Seattle, they'd win the tiebreaker against us if they beat us in Week 17. The Fins game will have meaning for us no matter what UNLESS the Pats and Ravens win out and we lose to Seattle.
That is exactly correct. And if anyone has any more questions regarding this stuff, just read the 'playoff scenario' thread already created with the detailed breakdown of every possibility we have of making the playoffs. But basically, it's really simple. The team that actually has to do the scoreboard watching is the Pats.
If NE losses and Baltimore wins then yes the Miami game is meaningless. Because we will have no shot at the wild card and NE cannot win the division.
Week 16: NE: Loss (9-6) Mia: Loss (9-6) NYJ: Win (10-5) Week 17: NE: Win (10-6) Mia: Tie (9-6-1) NYJ: Tie (10-5-1)
With a win or a tie with the Phins in that scenario, it's basically the same result. Would be funny as hell if we dumped both of them from the playoffs and won the division with a tie, though.
If NE loses the Seattle game becomes meaningless. All we have to do is beat Miami and we'll win the division based on division record. If the Jets and Miami win this weekend, NE cannot win the division and will be praying for a Baltimore collapse just to get a wildcard.
You guys are off http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffs...1SdFfgwFpDubYF Follow me on this... Week 16 Jets beat Seattle KC beats Miami NE beats Ari Dallas beats Baltimore Indy beats JAX Week 17 BALTIMORE LOSES Miami wins If NE wins Jets are the 6 seed If NE loses Jets win the division..
I doubt the Ravens lose to the Jaguars. Thats the only problem with GM's theory. Oh, and we aren't going to lose to Miami.
according to the one i just did, if your thing happens, and NE wins...jets are still out. Miami is the 6 seed.
I want the Phins to lose to shake their confidence, but they will probably win 12 to 9 like they always do...
It does matter. It is very possible our game gets flexed to Sunday night. By 4:00 PM Sunday both the Raven's and Pats could be 11 & 5. If Miami or the Jets loss this week the final game will be meaningless to the loser other than being able to knock their rival out. If both Baltimore and NE are 11 and 5 and the Colts have already clinched the first wild card neither the Dolphins or the Jets can make the playoffs at 10 & 6.
Ill say it in this thread. If Baltimore loses to Dallas. Then the Seattle game means nothing. If we lose seattle and win miami we are the 6th seed. if NE loses one game in the senerio we win the division. Next, Balt loses, we win in seattle we probably still have to beat miami to get in. Win miami we get 3 seed. Lose miami, then pray NE loses 1 of their last 2, and balt loses 2 of 2. Thats it.
It's probably going to be like 6-0 this week lol. Looking at the weather report now, it looks like Sunday they're going to have Strong Winds[!] along with -10[!] degree weather. I actually like this, because if we surive out there it won't make the Meadowlands look anywhere near as bad.
