All this talk about Pennington and the Dolphins is starting to get to me. I get enough of it living in south Florida, but lets be real for a second here.

The Dolphins will lose this weekend against the 49ers, book it. And they way the Cheifs are playing I see them losing in KC also. The fins are lucky to be where they are right now. Last minute wins against the Seahawks, Raiders, and the Rams have me CONVINCED this team will lose their next two games. The fins can not get into the endzone, just like when Chad was here, they play the FG game. Last week they looked horrible and still were able to pull off another win against the JP Losman Bills. Theres no way they win this week, and I'm going say they will lose in KC two weeks from now.

Lets end the talk about Chad and the Dolphins and just take care of our own business, because Chad and the Dolphins wont matter come week 17.

Nope. Chad coming back to NY, even Mangini won't fail in motivating the players for that one.

Without getting into specifics and whether I agree with him, the OP does raise the important point that developments in weeks 15 and 16 can drastically affect the nature and importance of week 17 for the entire division.

That's why I would prefer to focus on the Buffalo game.

The Pats might take this division if we dont take care of business, but the Dolphins will not.

The 49ers are playing good football and are playing their hearts out for their head coach. They will win this game.

Who cares about whether the Fins win this week or not. We just need to take care of Buffalo

Fins will win the next 2. So will the Pats. We're going to have to win out to make it. That's why those last 2 games were so important. The playoffs start now for us.

Have we not all said that REAL teams find a way to win, even when they don't deserve to win these type of games ?

Well I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but as a Jet Fan in South Fl I get to see the Fish more then I would like. An like it or not the F'ing Fish are winnning these games and staying right behind us just waiting for us to slip.

Don't think for one minute that Chad would love nothing more then to stick a fork in to this club and make us eat Crow for dumping him. He will never say such a thing, but his play sure would.....

If the Jets continue to play like they did the last two weeks, they will be out of it by week 17.

The problem is Chad's smarts win out against our motivation, and Chad is smarter than our def and knows the formations like the back of his hand. There really is no rationale for a guaranteed Jets win if it boils down to week 17.

They have been playing really well lately. But they might be due for a let down after their win against us and the fact that the game is in Miami

if the game was on the west coast, i would agree. but east coast game? San fran will have some trouble. However, KC could beat miami... ah who knows... take care of our own bussiness, and let the other chips fall where they may....

Oh yeah, Mangini's going to absolutely whip the team into a fury over the fact they are playing an incredibly well-liked and respected former team leader. Dudes are going to be furious that Pennington had the audacity to be released in a questionable personnel transaction!

Uh no that's not the angle I was thinking about. The Jets would be the laughing stock of the NFL after making all these transactions, culminating in dumping Penny for Favre and then it coming full circle to bite the team in the ass. I'd say that would be a motivational factor.

That reminds me of the first Terminator movie at the end when the one-armed, no-legged Terminator skeleton drags itself toward Linda Hamilton.

KC is a difficult place to play. It will be cold and hopefully nasty weather. If the Jets take care of business and win out miami won't matter (not like they do anyways) San fran is playing well enough to beat flipper and that would be sweet.

Chad is like Carrie and Jet fans are like the high school kids who poured blood on her at the prom.
