2 consecutive losses. 2 consecutive games where our defense fails to get off the field. Execution is not everything. Putting players in the position to succeed IS. 3 man pass rushes with DT/ DE hybrids don't work. Royal Tee made some excellent points regarding crossing routes, but my issue is this: What the !@$# are we really doing? I mean really? Yes the defensive scheme mimics New England, but we lack the team chemistry and experience to be as effective. Is Dick Lebeau THAT much of a genius that we can't imitate ANYTHING? When an offense is under center, this should be a dream scenario for blitzing. I fully comprehend the offensive adjustments to the blitz, but WHAT are we establishing on defense? Sutton and Mangini do not have to be fired, BUT!!!!! They do have to change what they are doing. Let's try putting Thomas, Pace, and Gholston (yes i said it) on the line of scrimmage first, then dial up plays for them to drop into coverage. We still have time to fix this. SERIOUSLY. Side note: Brian..get the ball into the hands of your best players. If that means spending more time playing Madden or NFL Blitz, please do so.

If you know football, holla back. If you want to vent, holla back. Let's keep the name calling and cry's for attention in the Off Topic Forums.

I hear you. I am a little surprised with the language used on some of these posts. I am no football expert, but it looked like a lack of real effort to win the last two games. Obviously, I am not out there on the field to gage if every player gave their best effort.
However, do the Jets realize that if they do not capititalize on their AFC East lead they will not make the playoffs. I think fans are really angry because our beloved team basically wasted 2 big wins with 2 awful loses. And... even more frustrating is how are they going to win their next game if they continue to play this way.

I wanna vent. Im tired of Favre just throwing the ball down field. I find it ironic that we get rid of Chad because of his lack of arm strength, and it looks like Favre is having trouble throwing it down field himself. The balls are under-thrown and that's why it looks like our recievers cant get separation. Yeah they aren't the fastest, but they can still move a little. We need to play to the strength of our players, and not making them do things that they can't do. Gholston and Pace should be played the way the Cowboys play Ware. They will be more successful in that type of situation. Put pressure on the QB and take it off our CBs. With 15 secs of time any QB is gonna find an open receiver. Our coordinators are the problem. They are unable to make adjustments. The short passing game works the the team, but it didn't look like they were using it the way they did against Tennessee. It looks like a half-ass down the field sorta offense. Favre needs to take responsibility too. He is making terrible decisions, and not finding the open guys. Sorry I know it was kinda manic, but I'm pissed about this loss. Still think we will win the division tho.

for one, Barton was running around with a chicken without a head "trying" to cover recievers and he would get lost everytime. Lowery needs work, Ty law is a lost cause. Can any one explain the 3-4 defense? Did Belichick just realize he had the right team to run that kind of defense and thats how it worked, or did he do what mangini did and just force it in, except instead succeed? It seemed like our guys didnt know who to cover, it seemed like they had no idea what was going on. They werent just getting burnt, they were in completely disarray. Why cant we just get 4 tough guys on the defensive line and get a pass rush?

I said Lowery needs work before. He is often caught out of position. That being said the real problem is that first off the Jets aren't stopping the run and rushing the passer. Fix those two and the pass rush gets better. This takes the pressure off the offense. Right now Favre looks old. I do however think playing with Favre will help Clemens whom i think can still be a good QB for this team. Clemens would have hit Coles deep. Favre looks like he can't throw the deep ball anymore.

I think the 8 men in coverage thing was used by NE against Manning to much success when Mangini was there. I think it went to his head, it only worked against Manning and after a while he adjusted and it stopped working. Mangini is just too obsessed with NE.

    Thanks for the kudos.

Unfortunately this has been something that I have been harping on since early.
My Season TIX are in the upper deck and it is noticable from up there aamof, Secondary play and routes are very noticable.
The Patriots exploited it early but after that it seems that every team we faced has used it to get critical 3rd downs.
EVEN KC. Sad that to this day we made NO Adjustments to it. That along with our obvious formations on D (We tip our hand) we have been atrocious.

We continue to ask Coleman to do it but it's pretty much pick your poison as what they do is use a Speed receiver to pretty much run across the field after the LB'ers have been cleared out.
    I see it,
    They See it
But seems the Jets don't see it and what's even more frustrating is that we drop 8 and still have our DB 1 on 1 getting torched...wtf!?
