He is one problem.....Mangini was hired as the guy who was able to do so much with the Pats D and he was this defensive genius..... yeah well if that is that case, why doesn't her take over the D?
we have the worst pass rush in football, period. forget the sacks, its about constant qb pressure and we have ZERO
this is true. ppl always bring up sacks and say we're one of the best at pass pressure. obviously thats not true
We just rushed 3 and got a pik.... So according to the math, If we do this and fail every 99 times we will be successful 1 time... Love that Logic!
a well we get alot of sacks but so what, its about keeping constant pressure on the qb to disrupt timing and force them into bad throws. Sacks mean nothing when on the other downs the qb is standing there 5-6-7 seconds
I feel as if that pick was more of a communication error between Hill and Bruce than anything we did.
every time i see sutton rush 3 in a defensive sequence i feel like killing him. and how you rush only 3 especially on 2nd and 20 is unbelievable. i felt like breaking my tv at that point. why cant mangini just take the headset from that idiot and call the defensive plays and make that old fuck a waterboy or something. mangini did a great job when he coached the pats d, is there any way he can be HC/D-Coordinator?
Yeah, with all the other talk going on here, thanks for reminding me how Cotch gave up on that pass route. What's with that?
I am starting to wonder if the Jets games are scripted for the bookies. I know, very far fetched and even boardering on idiotic. But, 97 percent of the bets taken were for the Jets to win by more points than they were giving. Hence with the Jets coughing up big yesterday, the bookies and Vegas had a big payday. This seems to happen a lot to the Jets if you follow such things. Historically, they are a horrible team to wager on unless you go with the negative wager. It just makes me wonder a bit. For me, if I felt that football was fixed I would stop watching the game in its entirety. It would not be any different than watching the WWF.
We should be lucky we're not playing the Lions this year. If they come in with a completely passing game plan, I'm 90% sure they'd beat us. I know I'm saying this out of emotion, cause I just finished watching highlight film on NFL.com. God I'm fucking pissed all over again, but goddamn it...this D needs to get their shit together...AND FAST!
To be fair, he lost half his starting D that year including Harrison for almost the whole year, and Bruschi (the QB of the D) for half of it.
This is why I think so many are upset today, other than the simple fact of the loss. The problems on O seem to be a combo of playcalling that goes away from the run game, which in theory could be easily fixed, and the lack of effort by Coles and Cotch, which is more problematic, but could conceivably be turned around in one game. The problems on D, however, are more complicated and less susceptible to a turn around. Even in some wins the D has given up mucho yardage and points - the O simply outscored the opponent. But the pass D in particular seems so broken, a combo of poor coaching and mediocre or ill suited personnel, that I think we fans in general would have to say a turnaround on the pass D is what would have to be the least likely thing to happen quickly at this point. Perhaps if the sacks came back, that would be the most likely short term development that would help. I don't want to sound totally discouraged here, but the likelihood of positive developments is what we are concerned about, meaning there is little likelihood on the Pass D.
