The Giants are doing the right thing and who knows, that might keep Goodell out of it. If he had a permit for a concealed firearm in NY this would all be a non issue except for the hole in his leg.
all im saying, is that if this happened in texas or even pennsylvania, it would not be a big issue Gun control laws are for gays
If he''s wearing jeans the gun probably never falls out and fires....so he deserves it. He only wore sweatpants because he could. You or I could never wear sweatpants and get into a club. He knew he could...and it was his downfall.
No one would give a rat's ass on a national scope if he weren't an NFL player, but he still could have killed someone either way. I'd be willing to bet that if he a person died because of this, someone out there would "give a rat's ass". The man had a loaded gun with the safety off tucked into his sweat pants in a crowded club. By almost any measure what he did had the potential to be much more detrimental towards society than anything Vick did. Vick's actions were disgusting and indefensible, but the bottom line is that it didn't endanger human life. The same can't be said for Plax.
Because a public figure should not be carrying a gun around at clubs at night. I hope he gets fucked twice. I'm sick of these assholes crying about coming from the "hood",getting a good shot at life, and running right back with guns and money.
Again, he was carrying a loaded gun in a crowded nightclub. What if the gun goes off and hits an innocent bystander all cuz this fukin' idiot can't handle a gun.
If he was anyone else, he wouldnt have even made it into the club after they found the gun. But they let him in knowing who he was. IMO, he deserves whatever he has coming to him. He wants to use his fame to get into the club when an ordinary Joe wouldn't be able to? Then his fame can now be used against him to prosecute him to the fullest extent of the law. I'm so sick of athletes thinking they are above the law.
I think my stance on gun control laws is pretty well known: I fully support an armed populace. That's not the point here though. He is being rightfully called out on his stupidity. The right to own and carry a gun comes with the responsibility of proper use. Plax showed that he couldn't give a shit about the lives of the people around him by carrying an illegal gun (not the worst part) and not even taking the proper precautions to make sure it didn't fire by accident (this is the part that endangered other human beings unnecessarily). Anyone who endangers the lives of others around them for no good reason except ignorance is a fucking fool and should be taught a lesson, which is hopefully what will happen. As far as carrying an unregistered concealed weapon in TX or PA, yes it would be a big deal. Gun rights advocates (and there a lot in those states) are the first ones to come down hard on illegal firearms and irresponsible use.
What the fark? Most black on black gun crimes are commited with unregistered illegal guns. Outlaw guns, and the criminals will still get theirs and the rest of us won't be able to defensd ourselves when they come bursting into our homes.
In terms of danger to other men and women, yes, Plaxico did something potentially dangerous and incredibly stupid. But I don't think you can compare a guy bringing a handgun outside of his home to a guy that ran what was essentially the central hub of dog-fighting in the south east. This isn't a PETA or animal rights activist thing, I just don't think you can compare the mentalities behind the two different accidents.
1. See my above post. 2. He owned a 40 calibre Glock. The gun has an automatic safety, meaning there are no buttons to press or slides to move to disengage it. The gun was jostled in his pocket and went off. Plax was an idiot and shot himself in the leg, agreed. But I don't think he deserves all this shit for being stupid. If you want to play the "what if" game, go ahead, because I'm not going to follow your lead on that one. He can only be charged for what did happen, and he should be. I still think it's ridiculous how people are acting like he's the anti-Christ just because he's stupid.
When someone goes to legally register or purchase a gun, do they give training on gun handling and safety? Or is it just an extensive background check?
I'm in Texas and I had to take a class for concealed carry. Not sure about how the law varies from state to state. I shot better than my instructor, because I am a badass.
The reason I asked was because the only thing I know about buying a handgun was going thru an extensive background check before they could sell it to you. If you come clean, the gun shop can outright sell you a gun. My point was, if Burress could've legally purchased a gun at a store based on his background check, then any idiot who doesn't know how to properly use a gun can go out and get one. Seems like a retarded law unless they give everyone training and classes on gun safety before purchasing a firearm.
If the same things happened to T.O. in a Dallas club, he would still be facing felony charges. The issue is the same.
i dont think he is the anti-christ. i think he should be treated like a normal person would. now that cant totally happen because the media is all over this. but as far as jail time i think he should get what a random idiot who did this would be getting. i dont know the law or any cases similar to this. but if there is a similar case in which joe blow got off with probation or something than i think thats what plax should get. if joe blow got 2 years in prison thats also what i think plax should get.
I just don't understand these players that drive drunk or carry guns around.. they get paid MILLIONS of dollars. Hire a fucking cab! Hire a bodyguard. Hell, the bodyguard will even drive your ass home.
