We are not some amazing team. I would definitely consider us a "pretender" if we got into the playoffs. I dont think there is a question that the easy AFC East schedule has helped us out this year.

However, we were "good enough" to string 4 together this year... we just need to do that again...

And then all bets are off in NY Week 17.

Oh, and that is all based on you winning out too. If you dont win out, we dont have to either...

I know I'll get crucified for saying this on a Jets board, but I'm not 100% sold on you guys either. You've been terribly inconsistent all season... with some absolute horrible losses this year.

We will see how it plays out in the end...

We seem to have a fair number of people around here who rare very accepting of the Jets losses. Sometimes you must point out to them that the Jets need to win games.

We shouldn't be worried about tiebreakers at this point. That is 3 weeks down the road and we control our destiny even w/ another loss(and maybe even w/ 2 if NE lost a game along the way).

No shit they need to win games. The Jets weakness all season has been pass defense and we just faced one of the best passing teams in the league. I said it before the Denver game, they matched up with us really well. Like many others I said we matched up against Tennessee very well. I said it weeks in advance.

Now tell me, who on our remaining schedule has a passing attack remotely close to the Broncos? Certainly not the lowly Lphins.

Any given Sunday any team can win in the NFL. The Lphins don't match up well against us though. The only way the Jets lose to the Lphins is if they play like shit.

Teams with a high powered passing attack have a much better chance of beating the Jets than the shitty Lphins do.

Miami is 4 games away, so much could happen before then. I'm not even thinking about that game.

Mostly because you don't have the offense to attack our defense. We should be able to both run and pass on your defense. Fasano is the only weapon the Dolphins have on offense that will do much. Ginn will be locked down again, you won't be able to run on us.

Brick will shut down Porter, I'm more worried about Roth against Woody than Porter against Brick but since we'll be able to run well our passing attack won't matter as much. Your secondary is average at best so if you don't get pressure it will be a field day for Fahvra.

How do you figure the fins match up well against us?

Only in terms of let's not let it come down to that. Miami has beaten all of the teams who beat us, and they almost beat us although both teams have improved a great deal since Week 1.

Who they've beaten doesn't mean anything to me. It's how we match up with them in terms of what personnel we are putting on the field in week 17, and the same with them. It's how they are performing at that point and how we are performing at that point. It's the weather, it's player cohesion at that point, it's injuries. You guys can discuss the matchup til your blue in the face and it will mean as much as preseason power rankings, because you don't know the circumstances until week 17.

No. Because you ahve a Quarterback that crumbles under pressure, and has an arm that isn't all that great plaing outdoors in late december, means you cant beat us.

your defense is decent but our offense can easily put up a decent amount of points against them. the jets have been fast starters for most of the year. if we get an early touchdown the game becomes ours to lose. chad is a good qb but he cannot play from behind. it just doesn't fit his skill set. if we get up by 10 or more its pretty much over. thats always how i felt when chad was with us. once we got down by 10 or more chad couldn't bring us back.

your offense plays into our strengths. you just lost your best receiver and that leaves ted ginn as your number one wr. revis can take him out of the game by himself. that would make your offense run first against the jets. any team that attempts to play run first against our defense struggles. the defense can stuff anybody's running attack. nothing about the dolphins matches up very well with the jets. the phins are a team that can do everything pretty decent but cant dominate any one area of a game.

I've posted this like a million times now, but I'm just not afraid of the Dolphins. We are clearly the better team and there is NO WAY we lose to them the last week of the season in our building. Also, as I've said all along, they are going to get picked off by a team you don't expect, as every team has one of those each year and they haven't had theirs yet. (I wouldn' be shocked if they lost in Kansas city in a couple of weeks)

We can't prevent it from coming down to that. If both teams win an equal number of games, that game will have significance.

    You don't know poetry.

Good point. If Miami loses one we can ice it before then by running the table.

I can't see running the table. Not with 2 west coast rips and 2 AFC East games.

I'm more worried about 2 trips to the west coast than Miami, being that our trips out there so far have been terrible.
