    this kind of thinking gets us nowhere fast.....

    The Jets have to win out, but I think 11-5 gets the division.

    We are going to rape Miami and the 49ers. It'll come down to SEA and BUF for that one loss. I'm thinking SEA because they'll be healthy for the first time all year.

    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

    Living one day at a time;
    Enjoying one (Favre & Co.) moment at a time;
    Accepting hardships as the pathway to a peace (of the SB hardware);

    ...... (and please give me the strength, however tempting it is, not to look at another playoff scenario)

    This analysis is all messed up. You have no AFC East division winner. The Colts can't host a playoff game because they will be a wild card. The only teams to get home games are the division winners. The first and second seeds get byes and host the playoff games the second weekend. The other two division winners are the 3 and 4 seeds and host the wild card teams the first weekend of the playoffs. Wild cards play on the road. Who wins the East?

    And at the start of the season I don't think there would have been a single jets fan who would have complained about that high of a seed. In fact, all probably would have been thrilled.

    Not impossible. I guess we're going to be rooting for Tennessee to beat the Steelers, and for the Steelers to lose at least one other, either Baltimore or Dallas. Not at all impossible. I'll be in the really unusual state of rooting for the Cowboys. Aargh. I hate when that happens. ... and of course, we go 4 - 0!

    Who would you rather face in round 1 of the playoffs? Colts, Ravens, or Patriots?

    I'm leaning toward the Ravens, but even that would be one hell of a tough game.

    anybody, because that means we are in. I pick the Ravens. Yeah I know i must be insane. That defense is merciless. So what? I want no part of New England. the faster they are removed from the playoff picture the better. We got the better of our nemisis once, I prefer not to tempt fate again thank you very much.

    Also I don't much feel like getting into a shootout with Peyton Manning. Do I think Favre can win that shoot out? Hell Yes i do. But I do because I would expect Thomas Jones to get 28+ carries for a buck 25 plus and him just churning up the clock keeping the ball out of mannings hands.

    Back to B-moore. I prefer them because of Joe Flacco. their offense does not scare me one little bit. Who's their top tailback this year? Not Mcgahee the Jet killer. Leron Mcclain and ray Rice. we can shut them down and force Flacco to have to throw to beat us, and oh btw, baltimores OL is not in the elite status (at least not like tenn's is) so I can see us getting pressure and rattling the rookie, and forcing a mistake or two. Besides I believe that Leon could set us up with better field position than Baltimore can get. So therefore I pick Baltimore, because I believe we can fuck their offense up, and score enough points to put us in the high teens to put the game away.

    Let's beat SF this week first. They are playing good football as of late and The Jets love to make QBs like Hill look like Dan Marino

    it doesn't matter if we get the bye or not. if we want to win the SB, we need to beat the best anyway

    Yep. This thread screams for the obvious response that the team just lost a home game badly, and is travelling to the left coast to play a team everyone seems to be assuming the Jets will just roll over. Well, if the Jets don't win these games, they ain't going anywhere.

    Play it one game at a time.

    And who is going to win the east? Show some faith in the Jets! A wildcard at this point would be under achieving. One bad defensive showing and you are crying wildcard.

    ???
    Our secondary can't be 'fixed' because it lacks talent. We can only hope they play a little harder and get more support from a line that, against the Broncos, looked completely blunted.... oh hai Saun Ellis.

    Man, you could not have dreamed this season up if you tried.
    Pennington gets released to make way for Favre, and he's QB'ing the Dull-Phins, against the Jets, last game of the season, Division title, perhaps, on the line!!!!!!
    HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The lack of a pass rush and excellent rush defense is making our secondary look worse than it is. Most teams would kill to have the "lack of talent" that is Revis, Law, Rhodes, and Lowery in their backfield.
