there is way too much bitching and complaining about this... one of their guys goes down he cant play the next play which means someone of lesser caliber must come in to play that play. why would you not take advantage of that as an offense? hey if they are that good and deep then kudos to them.... however i know they are not that good and that deep so boo to us for not taking advantage. the defensive guys can call its a bitch move to go no huddle and make them stay in the same personel group... but thats not gonna happen so they adjust and do what they have to do in order to change their personel groups. the only thing i would THINK about doing is not allowing substitutions other than the injured player. that would stop the issue immediately.
The free timeout and possible upgrades at other positions more than makes up for the slight downgrade at 1 position.
Maybe they should stop the No-Huddle. If you can't stop scumbags from faking injuries, then give them no reason to do it. Shannahan is a dick.
I dont know if it was a smart move or not. It does not cost them a timeout but it does make the player leave the game for a play. And thats what you attack.
Can't the league do something about this? It's obvious Shanahan coaches his players to cheat. You can't man up and stop the other team so you resort to these BS tactics - faking injuries, calling a Timeout right before a FG attempt, etc.
its shitty but its not violating any current rule. if the nfl doesn't like what they hear out of bly then they might wanna look at changing the rule. i think that being out for 3 plays as someone suggested could be a fair trade off. if its an offensive player his team needs to get a first down without him on the field. and if its a defensive player his team needs to hold the offense while he is out for those plays. it would definitely help what we have seen the last two weeks.(Haynesworth also took a pretty obvious dive against the jets. he saw the hurry up was coming and just layed on the field instead of getting his ass up and hustling back to the line)
How have the Colts handled it over the years? It seems absurd to me that nobody would try it against them if they're using it against us. I think also what was worse was the timekeeper. He'd run 30 seconds off each fake injury. It already takes us 30 seconds to run one play, we'd just lose a minute each time that way. Shortened the game...although seeing how we played, I suppose that was merciful.
I disagree. Faking injuries in soccer and other sports is a cause for concern. It's is certainly not in the interest of sportmanship and it definitely crosses the line into cheating. Why exactly are all these people upset about steroids? Because it is cheating, and dishonest, and gives one team an unfair advantage against another. If any of you are against the use of steroids in sports, then you should be as ngry about fake injuires and other cheating.
Good lord you guys whine alot. It's not illegal, and if memory serves me, all coaches in the league (including Mangini) give their input and or vote on current NFL rules. Bly wasn't faking, he was hurt. He wisely did what he thought would help his team. It probably was coached. Heck, they teach it in high school. Shady? Yes. Cheating? No Not like it would have made a huge difference anyway. Peyton Hillis ran all over your defense. I didn't want to come over here and talk smack, but calling Shanahan a cheater, and wishing for our whole team to get injured "especially Bly" is low class. You guys are playing well, good coach, good team, fans should step up and be good fans. Leaving the stadium when your team is leading the division? So you didnt play your best game. It happens, but to carry on this whining about "fake injuries" is silly. Good luck in the playoffs. Hope we don't have to play you until the AFC championship game.:steelers:
It was clear as day that MOST of those injuries were just trying to slow us down. We got screwed all day by horrible officiating, we still stunk so we can't really complain but it was complete BS what was going on. I hope we meet Denver in postseason.
heh, watch the chargers win out, make the playoffs and u guys get swept under the rug. give your team extra time to practice flopping.
did you see the game? it happened way more than any other team has used this loophole before. once 3 times in a row. now when it happens once or twice a game its pretty hard to notice, but when its happening after every 10-20 yard gain it gets to a point where everyone knows whats going on.
