No....that is not SOJ. That isn't how it works. They win enough to get you excited....then do something maddening. They'll make the playoffs, but they won't do it the easy way....they may not even win the division. Great teams beat the teams their supposed to beat....SOJ teams don't.

We have won all of our "Must Wins" so far. This was not a good thing but c'mon, soj? You have to admit that this has been the most exciting season since '98 and the soj don't play meaningful games in December. With the Ne loss today we haven't lost anything in the East and there is still time to catch up to Pittsburgh. There is something special here and I just can't write off this exciting season because of a trip up against a decent team

No. The Jets have not faded down the stretch and missed the playoffs since 2000. The Jets finished 9-7 or better in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006. The SOJ lift your expectations, then drop you on your head. The SOJ lose a game at home late in the season that they should win and then are forced to win on the last week of the season to make the playoffs, as happened in all seasons listed above.

The SOJ lose to inferior teams, like Oakland and Denver. The SOJ come out flat at home after two huge road wins. The SOJ lose a playoff game in heartbraking fashion.

So after watching this team for 40+ years, it is not just the complete fade that I fear, but looking back at a 10-6 or 11-5 season knowing this was a talented team and thinking what might have been if only . . . . after a playoff loss on the road.

The Jets played meaningful games in December and some Januarys in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006. You people are acting like the Jets haven't made the playoffs in a decade. Nobody would have been shocked if the 2002 or 2004 made a SB run. Yes, the Jets have had down years in 2005 and 2007, but this decade has been the best in Jet history. I can't say for sure if this is the most exciting season since 1998 because the most important games have yet to be played. And if you have Super Bowl aspirations, a game at home when you are 7+ point favorites is a must win.

I'm glad I'm young, because I'm going to make sure I never think like this.

One bad game and now the next 4 games are shit. Love the mentality.

That's not what I am saying at all. If you're young, then you haven't been around long enough to understand the point of my original post. Guys who have been watching this team for the last 30 or so years, know what I'm talking about.

    Well Friends,
after over 40 years I don't get too high when things are going very well or too low when the Jets world is falling apart. If I may speak for us old timers, we have seen this too many times for our heart to be broken this easy. The Jets had a stinker today and personally I just knew it would be a long one when J. Co lost the ball and the Refs awarded the TD after being touched down.
The Jets have 8 wins which many predicted would be the best we would do for the whole season. We have 4 left to go and even if we win 2 and end the season 10 and 6 this is again what many thought would be a very good season for this club.

Yet, this year I not buying in to the Same Old Jets BS, this team has finally begun to jell and loses like this one happen. In reaility it may have been just what the Jets needed to get there minds right. I see this team bouncing back next week and getting back on track and winning a few more games before it's all over. Matter of fact I hate to be the Seahawks because after a week of being called fruads by both the fans and the press this will be one angry bunch looking to prove all wrong.

Matter of fact this is how I like my Jets football to be played, with everyone pretty much shitting on my team. This whole week with all this bullshit hype about how great they are playing and the B.S. Giants/Jets super bowl talk was just that TALK. These guys have not won shit and until they do, all they should be worried about is the next game.

I'm in FL. and all week everyone been saying to me how good those Jets look and my come back to that is, been here before, so, "One damn game at a time"! I was told how we would just roll over the Bronco's and my responce was, the minute you look past anyone you've lost before you even get on the field.

The Bronco's found our weakness and poured it on all day, put out 5 guys and spread us out and bombs away. You can be sure other will follow this plan and we will see this the rest of the year. So we must either get to the damn QB or learn to drfend the T.E. coming over the middle.

So from a old S.O.B. of a Jets fans I say to you the next four games will determine if this is truely the Same Old Jets or a new group who are going to put the demons of the past behind them and bring it to everyone they play the rest of the way.......

An just remember don't EVER allow yourself to get too carried away with anything that happens in a season because if your a Jets fan it may not be good for you mental health

There's my team! They were missing for a few weeks, getting the sunshiners and 5 year fans all giddy and talking Super Bowl, but they came back with a vengence today - the none existant pass rush, the horrendous secondary, the asinine playcalling, the inability to adjust in game, the totally uninspired play and loss at home to an inferior opponent, it was all there in all its glory. Even if they manage to win 10 games, a first round exit from the playoffs is assured, because they will not be able to beat any other AFC playoff team. All is right with the world - my Same Ol Jets are back!

This was SOJ, cuz what is SOJ? Its having owners who can't pick a good coach. So its still SOJ. Our coaches are the kinds of guys you try to set up with an ugly sister, dependable, decent fellows who are too unremarkable to get a hot chick.

You are right, however we haven't had this many pieces in place on a team in a long time. after winning 5 in a row, Denver came in to our house and humbled us. Hopefully the kick in the ass we needed. There is too much talent in too many places to not be a little more hopeful than other seasons. The important games are yet to be played but so far we've responded when it was on the line. As time goes by and these guys jell even more the potential grows to be the best Jets team in a decade.

Now even I know that is BS. They played like absolute shit today and our weaknesses were exposed. But that doesn't change the fact that we beat 2 good teams on the road the last 2 weeks. We can win in the playoffs, as long as they don't play like today.

You guys are overreacting. It was a bad loss, but some of you got way too high expectations. This team has been inconsistent all year long, we weren't suddenly going to turn into the 2007 Patriots, and frankly I'm glad we didn't anyway. We would just lose in the SB that way.

It was raining, the officials and time keeper sucked, the Broncos were cheating. Rain is worse than snow or just plain cold. We'll be okay. But that goes to show you why the NFL plays the SB in a dome or a warm area where it won't be raining. In bad conditions, the weaker team can pull off a win easier. We got one on the Pats a couple of years back 17-14 in bad weather. Now the Broncos got us. The Pats got wins off of superior Colts teams because of weather before too.

This is why the Niners teams of the 80s would get home field advantage. For us it doesn't even really matter. Let the Titans get home field, then we can go there and beat them down.

Every1 just calm down. We lost to the Broncos. Big Deal! We are ending the season with a record of atleast 11-5 winning the division. So every1 who is crying over this loss... don't. Here's what I predict...We win the next 3...and I'm am not too sure about the last game of the season. Can't see a win, but can't see a loss, we will just have to find out for that one won't we...

We better win that. I don't think I could handle a loss to the Chad Pennington Dolphins to close out the season.
