he had the ball on the ground, as soon as the broncos touch him the ball is dead, the ball can go anywhere after that and you cant challenge that?, challenge down by contact
he didn't have control of it i don't understand why it can't be challenged either, but he did not have control over it when he was touched
yeah that's retarded. but the refs said cotchery never had control of the ball. which i thought you could challenge? terrible call either way
i agree that was b.s....why cant you challenge?/ but lets not act like titans or pats fans and cry about the refs....
yes he was. no way his elbow didn't hit the wrong. that was definitely no more a TD than the Broncos' fumble recovery was
and you can see that through TJ's leg or the defenders body? no way his elbow didn't hit the guy who tackled him. I didn't see the little black rubber bits pop up, so I don't think his elbow hit the ground.
Wow, you have better vision than the rest of the world because you could not see him down on any replay I saw.
no of course not. but you couldn't really tell what happened on the Cotchery fumble either based on replay. doesn't make it right though i understand that this is a JETS board and ppl here are partial for the Jets but double standards still annoy me
you could see it was heading down and right before it would've swung and hit the ground the defenders body covers the camera view. there's a very small chance that somehow his arm whiplashed back before it hit the ground but common sense would say that it hit the ground. the refs made the right call though, because it was still inconclusive. just like they made the right call on the cotchery fumble because that can't be challenged (plus we're not even sure cotch had control in the first place.
Watching the replays, I feel that Cotchery was definitely down and had control. Damn, that was a stupid play call by Mangini tough given the weather conditions. That TD really set the tone for the day.
I really don't think his elbow hit the ground. I did at first, but there was one pretty good camera angle that made it pretty clear. I'm pretty sure Cotch had control, but the ball was wet and slipped out when he was hit. I can't believe the refs called it the way they did, but, hey, it is what it is.
