Why root for New England? A Pittsburgh loss and a Jets win would jump us ahead of them in the playoff seeds, and if the season ended today, we would have the #2 seed, a first round bye, and home field advantage up until, and possibly including, the AFC Championship game.

Why root for Pittsburgh? A New England loss keeps them further away from tying up first place. And, um, also... Fuck the Patriots. I hope that franchise crashes and burns.

If we win, go New England.

    If we lose, go Pittsburgh.

We control our own destiny in the division with home games against Miami and Buffalo and a 3-1 divisional record, better than the Pats' 3-2.

I'm rooting for the Steelers. I want the Patriots as far away from the Jets as possible.

Particularly given the schedules, I think rooting for Pittsburgh makes a lot more sense - they are very likely to lose one or two of their last four games, while New England is not. The nice thing is that at least if Pittsburgh does lose, it helps the Jets also.

I agree -- win the division first and then worry about securing a bye later.

A tie helps us against both teams... what are the odds?

I'm rooting for the team I am less scared of. And that is the Steelers without question.

I am expecting Cassel to have another monster game this week. Wes Welker and Ben Watson will have to come up big this week in order for that to happen though.

Reggie Wayne came up big against them Steelers earlier, and Indy aptly beat them 24-20. The thing is, spread offense is a very good neutralizer of 3-4 defense.

No way Cassel does much against the Steelers D. But no way Big Ben does much against the Pats D either. This is gonna be a low scoring affair.

Peyton Manning didn't do much either. Just enough to beat them Steelers. And his main weapon that day was Reggin Wayne, from slot. I am just stating the obvious.

Just win Jets! If the Jets keep winning, odds are the Steelers will lose sometime, and the Jets will be the #2 or #1 seed.

If the JETS win, a Pats win would be better for the JETS than a Pitt win.

Look at the rest of Pitts schedule... no way they're winning out... we can afford to have them beat NE...
