I think the Jets will take care of business on their 2 cross-country trips vs the NFC West doormats. I think the Buffalo game won't be as close as we might think. I think the Dolphin game will be competitive until mid-way through the 3rd quarter and then the Jets will close them out and win by 10. But this Sunday....I'm a little nervous...I think we can win because we're the better team, but there are things that make me uneasy, starting with the start time.... --The Jets are 0-2 at the 4:15 time slot this season...and I think it's a real factor for these Jets. Mangini has them strict creatures of habit, but they just seem to have some trouble waiting around for the late game. They haven't been sharp in the 2 previous 4:15 starts (NE and at Oakland.) (I know, I know, we'll be in the parking lot getting lit for 8 hours and we'll walk in their feeling invincible.. that's what worries me...sitting there while unforseen events slowly drain the buzz from your head) --Shanahan is a douchebag, but a smart douchebag. I love Jeff Fisher as a coach, but he's not as sharp strategically or tactically as Shanahan. Shanahan's in first place too, and needs to get things turned around quick...he'll have a few wrinkles for Mangini. Watch your knees Jenkins, this guy is a fucking cheater. --Unlike the Titans, the Broncos are not a great matchup for the Jets. The Jets pass rush, though improved, still does not strike the fear of God into anybody and these guys can sling it. If we can't control the tempo with our running game, and we get into a shoot-out, Bad Brett may resurface in an effort to keep up. Ultimately, I believe the Jets will have a tussle on their hands. I see the team dominating on offense, but I worry about some snakebites (long drives that end in turnovers or missed field goals). If we can avoid the mistakes, we beat em. If we don't, I fear an upset. Don't mean to rain on our parade, just want to get a warning out. These guys are dangerous this week, and the vibe I'm getting from the media and the fans is that this one's in the bag--not so. December feels safe, it's just this last one in November that's got me concerned.
No team does well traveling from west to east..... Denver is a close win. And we as a board will complain about how close the win was, and why we didn't win by more.
I'll take this win no matter how unsightly it might be. Hopefully, we get in there and the party just continues and the buzz never dies.
^I only see one more loss in these 5 games left... if its the Bills, its the Bills. But i'd rather lose to a non-division team so that the Jets can lock the division with a 5-1 record against it. Let's hope its a west coast team.
Every game scares me simply because of the potential for injury. The Jets really can't afford any injury on the O-Line, and if Favre or Jenkins go down, the offense and defense will crumble along with them. The Broncos' O-Line has always been a dirty bunch, so like GSourJr says, I hope Jenkins gets out of this unscathed.
I am more worried about the two divisional games. The Jets have gone to the west coast twice this year. They will be ready for those last two road trips of the year. If they play like they did the last couple of weeks denver should not even be an issue. With the new training center every aspect of the Jets life has become easier. They had a 3hr+ bus ride to The Weeb now it is like 45 min to 1hr after home games. Kick ass state of the art video and meeting room give the Jets a nice advantange. The weight room and the locker room is twice the size as the Weeb facilities. This is probably a huge reason the Jets are doing so well this season. J! E! T! S! JETS! JETS! JETS!
I ain't worried about anything honestly. I just got a feeling about us this year. There's magic in that clubhouse. We win out.
1) The fact that we have lost two 4:15 starts is meaningless to me. One of those was on the west coast in the pacifc time zone and the other was the second game of the season. Also, two instances isn't even enough to call it a "trend". And even if it were a trend, CORRELATION DOES NOT NECESSARILY IMPLY CAUSATION (just basic statistics). 2) Shanahan is an extremely overrated coach. He's won one playoff game since 1998. I personally think Mangini is every bit as good at coming up with a tight gameplan as Shanahan is. 3) The Broncos defense will be among the worst defenses the Jets have faced this season. (In fact, I think it IS the worst one we will get to face this year) They can't stop the run and their pass rush sucks. We will see a lot of long, time-consuming drives by the Jets. Also, their special teams coverage sucks. Look for Leon to possibly have a big return. I think people are way too worried about this game on this board.
I have a strange feeling the Seattle game is going to be the surprise....think about it. Seattle is sandwiched in between the division games plus it's the seond trip out West in two weeks.......
No way, under any circumstances, should the jets lose to denver at home. This game should by all means be a route, but I'll take a 6-3 win or a 41-3 win, whatever gets us to 9-3.
I don't see the Jets losing another game in the regular season. Brett has 'learned the language', and the team really seems to (finally) be on the same page. Yep, I'd say they've jelled. The only way the Jets can lose is if they take anything for granted. I don't think that will happen though. They're peaking at the right time. This Jets team just keeps getting better and better.
