Hey just food for thought. Lets say we draft Manny Lawson at 29, then there would be no need for Mario Williams right? Manny can play DE and LB. So if we can get Manny, do you think it's even worth drafting Super Mario? I feel if we can draft Manny at 29, then we could trade up for Leinart. Maybe trade our #4, 35# or whatever it would take. Another thing I was thinking of . Is it possible that Winston Justice can fall to 29? If not, even though I would hate this, would anybody be against trading down to get him? I just think he will be much better then the D'brick. He's bigger and from what I've seen more aggresive. Sorry, when I orginally typed this, I was in a rush. So I hope it looks better now and hope it makes more sense lol.
Yeah when I was typing I thought of that. I'm just not sure who I would want at 4. I just feel if we know Manny Lawson will be there at 29, we shouldn't take Mario. Since he can play both DE nd LB. So we could use him in different situations. He will be like a Willie Mcginist(sp) type player.
sarcasm, but you know... it wouldn't be like the Saints giving up there draft for Ricky pothead Williams. If we did happen to trade our 2 picks for Bush, we wouldn't regret it, like the Saints did . Bush will be a great great Marshall Faulk type back.
Would I trade our top 2 picks for Bush? Certainly, it would be amazing value for us, and we have a 2nd rounder that's basically like another first rounder. But I doubt Houston would ever do that.
I LOVE Lawson-- but he and Williams are totally different. We are going to a 3-4, so lawson cannot play end in that system. At 240 it is a stretch for him to be in the 4-3. I love him for a LB though. Justice will not fall to 29- I'd be surprised to see him still there at 15. I love him too though-- I wouldn't mind trading down to 7-10 and taking my chances on him or Cutler still being there. Leinart is the only player I would draft at 4.
yeah...the first post i got the impression that you thought 29 overall comes before 4 overall...
Yeah the post didn't come out the way I wanted it to. I was trying to say we could pass on Mario if we feel we could get Manny at 29. I coulda just said that lol.
The problem is, there is no guarantee Lawson will still be on the board at 29. It's taking a risk. The only way I see the Jets skipping on Mario is if they are willing to go with what they already have, and taking Lawson if they get lucky. I still don't want one of the QBs at 4. If not Mario, then Brick. If for whatever reason both are off the board, trade the 4 down, or take Hawk.
if we don't get lawson we can still get the way underrated Bobby carpenter; but don't get me wrong I'd rather have Lawson.
