I don't know, this probably belongs in the NFL forum. If so, please move. Thanks. I am watching ESPN right now. They are doing their draft special. They were just discussing character in terms of what that means to a player. Herm was the first coach they showed a clip of. He said "It's almost like going on a date. You don't get married yet. You don't get married till you draft em. And so you're just tryin to figure out, is this guy, how does he match up with me, and how does he match up with this team?" Nice one Herm! I didn't realize that NFL coaches had a honeymoon every year. Maybe that is the manlove Herm practices?
When I was reading this I kept looking at your avatar. I just kept picturing Herm as the red M&M and the new rookie being "welcomed" into the marriage.
As Hermisms go this one actually makes sense. Call me when he comes up with another bowling ball covered in knives
Come on, guys. Herman Edwards may not be the smartest guy out there, but he isn't the dumbest....I certainly respect him
The more I think about it, the more I believe Herm's nutjob media bites are his way of blanket-condescending. Like he's "Breaking it down for the dummies".
He must have married the veterans because he kept on playing them even though he had better younger players.
You know whats really amazing...HES USED THIS ONE BEFORE...the well must be going dry... As I was reading it, it sounded familiar. I know he has used it before.
Except for Vilma and Rhodes and Coleman and Abraham and Ellis and Pennington and Moore and Jones and Hobson and Robertson and Coles...you get the picture. In fact, he pretty much only didn't play Jordan.
It wasn't just Martin over Jordan. He played Vinny over Bollinger, Pennington played only after Vinny got hurt, he played Marvin Jones and Mo Lewis until they couldn't play anymore, Chrebet over Cothchery, and I am sure that there were others. Even if he had done it only once, he still proves how stubborn he was. He had little or no choice but to play Pennington and the ones you mentioned but when he had a choice he couldn't resist playing the veterans over a better or equal younger player even when the veteran was hurt (Martin last year). I am just elated that we probably got a real HC this year and I will be watching Herm in KC and laughing.
