http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=37785 in 2002 when the jets were 2 - 5 i was sitting in math class. I was in high school at the time...and i mapped out the remainder of the jets schedule as well as those involved in the playoff picture at the time... i predicted every game the jets would win to 100% accuracy...everyone thought i was nuts but i did... this isnt as bold of a prediction but bold enough.....future prediction to come...
Wait, the excitement passed already? I must've missed the bus lol. For the newer guys here, Turk has always been one of the better posters on the board and is usually very in-tune with what is going on... hence his picks.
for the even newer guys edge is right LOL i had to end the streak... but lets keep it going anway... for the newest guys nyj2k08 is better than all of us
I was a regular poster here in 2002, oh what a wacky year that was. We all really thought Pennington was the best QB in the league, Brady was an overrated one-trick pony with no throwing arm, and that we would go into Oakland and win in the playoffs. Now, not that any of those opinions were that ridiculous at the time (even the Brady thing--his arm looked terrible that year for some reason), just shows how things changed. Still, I definitely think this is easily the best we have looked since that orgasmic close-out of the 2002 season (I don't think real Jet fan can forget the trifecta of blowouts that was @NE on SNF and then GB to get into the playoffs and the Colts in the WC round). An objective analysis shows that our 5-0 start in 2004 was due to a weak schedule and we never looked particularly dominant after that, and we simply didn't have much talent in 2006. I haven't posted regularly here in a long time, but I just had to check in tonight to see the excitement. I just read the entire game thread!
That's a great post.... I seriously was thinking about this as I was watching Leon rip a 61 yard TD. Honestly in 02 I knew we were going to lose to Oakland. At the time the Raiders had our number and not even "The Next Joe Montana" could do anything about. I haven't felt this good about a Jets team since 98 and even then we had Denver who was probably a better team. The definitely had the better QB. Now here in 2008 it's different.... the Colts and Steelers worry me but I think we could beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh and the Colts likely would be coming to the Meadowlands so I honestly think as long as we don't have to play the Pats we seriously could pull off an impossible run to the AFC Title game or even things that give me goosebumps. Even though we beat the Pats they scare me. I do not want to see them again this year.
