Favre just had his post-game conference, and he said this.

"Am I going to have 16 years in New York? Doubt it [laughs]... But I am going to try and have 16 years in 1."

This guy is here to win, and he is getting it done one week at a time.

This is his last year. 16 years in 1, not in 2 or even 3.

I think you're reading too much into that. What number is he gonna say other than one? IF he says two, then evryone goes nuts.

I think it best just to enjoy this year while it's happening, then worry about next year only when it's done. Favre's clearly doing that, and that's smart.

If he' having as much fun as it looks and we keep playing good i wouldn't be suprised if the legend comes back for one last ride. 16 Years in 1 tells me Favre is playing his heart out for this one.

Favre is the man. My favorite QB for years, now in NY and winning. It's amazing. He's here to win and we are doing so.

he can stay as long as he'd like, and he can take as much time during the offseason as he wants too.

You know me, and where I come from. So you can understand how f-ing pleased I was to hear Woody basically say exactly that in an interview last week.

A front office that can appreciate that these are sometimes hard decisions to make for a player doing something this hard for this long, and that cares more about WINNING than seeing their "long range plans" remain on their meticulously laid little tracks ...

True, but I feel the only difference is that the Jets don't have someone waiting like the Packers did in Rodgers... the Jets have no one proven behind him, so let him take till the middle of July if he needs it. I want him back for next year.

Right. I think the Jets probably go with Kellens + Raitliff + Ainge into camp whether Favre decides to come back or not, I doubt they'll be drafting or trading for a prominent QB this offseason regardless.

im almost positive the jets sign a FA QB to take his place

but why talk about it...hes here now and we're winning....we have plenty of time in the future to talk about this

LOL. This gave me the thought of Cassel coming to NY, with the feud getting jump started all over again. More protege vs master with Mangini vs Bellicheck and Cassel vs Brady.

    Funny thoughts.

I think people read way too much into what he says. He is going to go back and forth about a dozen times this offseason anyways.

I don't quite believe in Cassel, regardless of what he's doing this year. I'm still pretty curious about Ratliff, and what he may be able to learn under Farve's tutelage.

Actually last year was the first time he ever went "back and forth." In previous years he always just did the same thing he's doing now: during the season he says "I'm not thinking about it right now," and after it's over he consistently says "I don't know, I'm still thinking about it, I'm not gonna decide until <fill in a date>"

Brett Favre has made a decision on his retirement and then reversed it exactly ONCE in his entire career. Everything else you think you saw happening was not a story created by Favre, it was stories created by rabid media.

I agree with you. I'm just saying I think even he doesn't know what he is going to do this offseason and will take some time to figure it out after the season is over. Unless he wins the Super Bowl, I think there is a decent shot he'll come back.

OK. I confess I get easily pissed off at all the people who say Favre keeps changing his mind, so maybe I'm a little defensive on his behalf there.
