I am really excited about this game. Firstly because its so great to have the Jets playing in such a meaningful contest at this stage of the season. I can easily see either team winning as the ultimate victor will have to play very well to beat the other unless one of the teams has meltdown/bad game. I think this is less likely to happen with the Titans as they have proven themselves to be a very confident, resilient team that plays with great consistency and determination. While the Jets may be more apt to stink up the joint with crucial errors/bad decisions that may be the deciding factor this Sunday, I also feel they have more potential than the Titans to be explosive offensively although they are not yet as consistent and a tight unit as they are still rounding into form. One of the keys that I think will greatly influence the outcome of tomorrow's game to me is the health of Kyle Vanden Bosch. He has the potential to be a huge difference maker for the Titan in terms being able to free DBs and backers from having to crowd the box. If he's a healthy contributor for the entire game (a big if) the only way the Jets beat beat TN is if they play out their asses which Favre is certainly capable of as he thrives on the pressure of big games like this. Either way, this is a great game and a very exciting match up.
"Look, you actually make a fair point here - fans generally only really know their own team, so it is often the case that perceived weaknesses on another team are based on very limited knowledge. But that cuts both ways and you go on to seriously underrmine your argument by assuming the Jets are going to get slaughtered. How well do you know this Jets team? I'm perfectly willing to admit that I don't know much about the Titans. The difference between us is I'm not visiting Titans messageboards posting how the Jets are going to slaughter your team. Do you see the difference there?" actually, i'm quite familiar with the jets. and i'm telling you right now that the jets simply have not faced anywhere near the caliber defense that this titans defense is. believe me, you're gonna find out. just watch the game tomorrow.
you're telling us we haven't faced a D of your caliber yet?? are you serious?? obviously we haven't...have you seen our schedule?? haha
and the Titans haven't faced a team as good as the Jets..... haven't faced a pass rush like the Jets, a QB the Jets have or running game, or team on this much of a roll. How is this an easy game for either team? Winning relaxes the mind and soul.... you seem too confident in Tennessee. Try being a battle tested Jets fan, you see things much more objectively. Also, you Titan fans are fucking boring to talk to.
I am totally with you! However, I don't see either team "having a bad game." Things could get out of control (as they do during many Super Bowls) because this is such a huge game for both teams, but I think both the Jets and Titans understand what is at stake here. And you are 100% correct about the explosive Jets offense being able to break out at any time against any defense. Me? I figure: The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Let's go Jets!
Jets fans are way too confident. This is the second best team in the NFL we're facing, and it's on the road.
I hear ya, I'm kind of worried about what this place might look like if we lose to the 10-0 Titans in there house tomorrow. I'm cautiously optimistic, we can win the game, and if we do it will be huge. Either way it should be a great battle.
30% chance? It's not like they've been blowing everyone out of the water. I know they're a real good team, but 30% chance?
New to the forums, so excited about tomorrow I cant sleep. The key thing the Jets are going to have to do is keep Bo Scaife covered. Gage will be shut down by Revis so Scaife will be their primary target.
yep. They're at home and they're the best team in the AFC. 30% chance is not bad. Won on the road at Buffalo and New England. Expecting a third upset is probably expecting a bit too much. Not saying it can't happen, of course. Just saying that they have a damn good team and we don't have a great QB. Turns out Accuscore gives us a 31.3% chance, so I was close.
get a clue NDmick............ the jets are gonna get their ass kicked. you just remember to reflect on this when you are sitting there watching it actually happen sweety.
stats worth consideration stats can be and often times are misleading, but conversely, most definitely serve as a farely decent guideline as well: through 10 games look at the jets and titans defensive stats. they are pretty damn eye opening, that is if you have your eyes open: scrm plys: titans - 634 jets - 631 pts/g: titans - 13.1 hmy: very big difference not to mention the most important stat. jets - 22.1 yds/g: titans - 281.8 jets - 321 yds/p: titans - 4.4 jets - 5.1 3rd down conversion percentage: titans - 33% jets - 39% TO's: titans - +10  jets - +1 ignore these stats if ya like, but i'm telling you jet lovers, you're going to see their relevance in action in this game.
Heya Jets Fans, Just spent a fantastic week in the Big Apple a couple weeks ago. Always been a part time fan, but my ties to the Titans go back to seeing the Oilers play on Sunday with my dad in the Astrodome in the 60's. IMHO this one should be a classic, irresistable force meets the imovable object game if both of these teams show up on their game. There's way too many interesting matchups, which makes it all the better. With KVB back on our D line, it comes down to which D can put the pressure on the QB and force mistakes. Everything else is so close that the crowd may be the difference here. Here's to an injury free, well played contest. Titans 21, Jets 20. Just please don't let it come down to a blown / bad ref call. May the best team win today.
