Yes, that was a huge play created by Abram Elam. Pace was the beneficiary of Abram's work. Other than that he has not made much of an impact on defense. I'm not going to credit him with making 7 tackles against the Pats when they put up 500 yards of offense against us. He started off hot this season and lately has done nothing of significance (besides pick up a forced fumble). You are overstating his one big play that he's been involved in because unfortunately that's all he's done lately. And instead of proving your point you continue to make blank statements regarding me being a casual fan, blind and/or someone who doesn't understand the game. However, you can only point to one play from the last 5 games. And one that he benefited from someone else. I think that more than anything proves my point that he's been invisible of late. He needs to pick up his play down the stretch. Period.
Who else besides me wants to see Mawae getting abused. I think Jenkins will make a few game altering plays as he has up to this point. It's gonna force some turnovers. This is a huge game for this defense. I think like last week, Lowery and Law will alternate to get the best matchup if there are problems. Rhodes will be keeping an eye on the rookies backside for sure. The kid has great instinct he just has to avoid let guys get by him. But he will swallow anything short. I do hope they practice some hurry up scenarios because the PATS did have the Jets huffin a bit. But I really see this game being competative as heck. O, and if anyone can neutralize an agreesive defense it's Leon.
I'm with you.... this week has had the feeling of a playoff week for me. Last week was the 1st round now we have to travel to the #1 seed with a trip to the AFC Title game on the line. Somehow Denver beats the Colts and Steelers to get there.
He also said Collins was too old and could not win games through the air earlier this year and that we could not stop Manning. He is not that bright.
This is the second article I've read which claims BF talked the team into using empty backfield sets. Well, he should talk them back out of it because its not working.
I like Pace, too, but a weakness is his ability to play pass coverage. I get that the Tits need to stick with their running game, but they should get mileage out of isolating linebackers, including Pace, in pass coverage.
Poll on the same page: Code: Who will win Sunday? 61% Jets 39% Titans Total Votes: 2399 No doubt if Casserly wrote an article in favor of the Titans the poll would probably look a bit different.
Isn't Casserly the guy who was ridiculed by "NFL experts" for choosing Mario Williams over Reggie Bush in the 2006 draft? And praised a couple years later when Bush looked like a bust? Anyhow I like this anaysis and agree. I think the Jets got a good shot to beat the Titans. But WTF, they got a good shot to win every game the rest of this season, right? So i don't have much to say.
