Well no sh*t Harris is better... But that's only because Bowens is a converted DE. Harris is clearly not a coverage LB and it's probably because he bulked up 20 pounds this offseason and slowed his ass down. You won't convince me after watching games this year that any of our starting LB are good in coverage. Hence, all the underneath yds surrendered on 3rd down.
Then why do you say Bowens is no worse in coverage? It's night and day. edit: btw, Harris is far better against the run as well. I don't understand what you're looking at.
Kerry Collins fears no one and like you said We shut down there running game and its nighty night for there Offense. Titans are a nasty D but with Favre and how good we been playing i think we can get some points up and Out score the Titans and Kerry Collins. Its a good chance we upset the Titans...
Remember men - We are a top scoring team. We need to score points. I agree with stopping the run. Our old friend Mawae will have his hands full with a big guy like Jenkins. I think our secondary will do a good job. We will give up some plays to the TE's. We don't match well there with Harris out or limited. That said, we need to give Brett some time to go to our WR's and TE. Give 'em a little misdirection with Leon and we have some points. Collins has been good but he hasn't been called upon to carry the team. He had 1 pick last week when asked to do more than usual. He has a history of losing the ball when he gets hit. I would not give him all sorts of time in the pocket. He has the saavy to find open recievers. I really like our chances this upcoming week.
What I meant when I said he's no worse in coverage is that they both stink in coverage. I'll rephrase it next time. And I hope Harris is better against the run than Bowens, but we've stopped the run without Harris so it's not an issue. Essentially what I'm saying is this D would be playing the same way if DH was in there, based on what we've seen from Harris this year. Obviously, I hope he's back soon and starts making plays as he is one of my favorite players on the team. I hope he plays better though for f*cks sake.
just think, if robertson was still playing NT for us we wouldn't even be having this conversation. mawae will do something dirty (like he always does) and Jenkins will explode and pluverize him AND kerry collins. i watched kerry when he was with the g-girls and he really does suck. his success this year is due to the titan defense and a good running game. he's never even thrown the ball untill a few weeks ago, and teams were not prepared for it. the jets will be. revis? law? no pass, no way. stop their run game. it's that simple.
I said this on another thread, I'll say it here. 10-0 is 10-0. However, look at who it's 10-0 against. No monsters in that bunch. We field the better team on Sunday.
I guess we just disagree. Bowens has been OK filling in, especially considering his original position, but people take advantage of him by design. Harris hasn't been terrible in coverage from what I've seen. Maybe I need to rewatch. A good deal of the 3rd down conversions have come against our nickel and dime backs.
Most of his games have been for very low passing yards. 123, 127....he had a 200+ yard game and everyone was calling him the second coming of heh Brett Favre HA! He's playing Chad-Ball, but he "can" throw a somewhat decent long ball so this should be fun to watch. Personally, I think Fischer is one of the best coaches in football, and has been for a long time. It's going to be a great game. I'm telling you right now ...THIS AMP DOESN'T GO TO 11!
They've won the last two games by going thru the air, but as bad as we've played on pass defense I have to believe that with Law and Revis we will be able to shut down their passing game. At least, I would hope we could.
