After watching the Bills fall to Cleveland late in the game. It seems the Jets have one less team to worry about competing with. However, it brings up a concern about the coming weeks. (Stop reading now if you're just going to tell me I'm getting ahead of myself.) Miami and New England are both 6-4. I don't really want to think about this, but worst case scenario, Miami beats New England. Think about it, the Phins have a cupcake schedule after New England, and I really don't want to think about them being running the table the rest of the season. Best case scenario, the Jets handle Tennessee this Sunday, and the Patriots beat the Phins. New England has a semi tough schedule, with games against the Steelers, Seahawks, and Arizona. (This may be one of the only times I condone hoping for a Pats win). Yes, Thursday's win over NE was huge for us; I couldn't be happier. Call me cliche but this Sunday is a must win if we want to really put some distance between the rest of the East and run away with it. Thoughts? :jets:
Good points. If the Phins can get by the Patsies this weekend, they've got a shot a running the table until they play the Jets again. They've been playing relatively well and catching some breaks. Although the words are choking in my throat, the last game of the season could decide the division title.
I agree with you guys. I guess one positive is that if it does turn out that way, at least we play at home against a team that we play tough against every year.
best case scenario: heading into the last week, jets and fish are tied for the afce and playing for the last playoff spot. 50 yd line tickets: $700 parking: $50 beer: $350 seeing the look on Parcell's face when the final whistle blows, priceless.
You sound like a loser, like I used to be. I hope Miami DOES run the table, loses to us Week 17, gives them the Wild Card +bad draft pick and then get bounced out in round 1 of the playoffs.
You know, I take that back. I hope New England beats them Sunday. The Patriots are a MUCH better team than Miami. The Phins fans need to realize this. They are starting to annoy me.
I was hoping the Dolphins would lose Sunday (almost did) and then beat the Patriots. That would have been ideal. The Bills are in serious trouble. But whatever. We need to pay attention to our own business one game at a time. Jets 24 - Titans 20
No way, that's a horrible scenario. We should have a playoff spot locked up by that point. I'd honestly hate to have to play the Fish for a playoff spot, they're not the same team that they've been for this past decade. They believe they can win. In a season where the Jets finally slayed the Patriots dragon, whats to say the Fish couldn't do the same to the Jets?
This is the second thread on this and I will say what I said in the first one again. I want MIAMI to win this game. I don't give a damn about their schedule or how easy it is. They don't worry me a bit. Pennington did all he could to lose that game on Sunday. There will be more games like that, they play both Buffalo and us on the road in December. They will not run the table but the PATRIOTS just might.
We definitely do not want to be in that scenario. Chances are if that scenario were to come true we'd be on the way down.
Yesterday I was looking at all the teams remaining schedules and came to the simple conclusion that the Jets need to handle their business . We're going to have to earn this division title.
The Jets are finally in a position to control their own destiny in the division. So lets just win and not have to worry about other teams.
I totally agree. I want the Patriots dead and buried. I want them out of the playoff hunt altogether. I'd rather face Miami in the final game and then face them again in a wildcard run. The Patriots give us problems, whereas I know we've got Chad's number.
Don't worry about the Dolphins. They are very overrated. Just beat Seattle at home, just beat the Raiders this past weekend. They're nothing to brag about. And New England will demolish them this weekend.
