I agree with 1969. I don't like Crennel, he mooched off Belichek his entire career, was hired off Belichek's reputation and his own skin color, and has failed miserably. Sutton, while hated by everyone because he is not a big name and is an old white guy, has completely turned around this defense into one of the top D's in the NFL. Of course new personnel have helped, but that's also why last year should not be held against him, he didnt have the right guys. Pass on Crennel, keep with whats working, keep Sutton.
Crennel worked for Parcells in College in NY in NE and for the Jets, he was our Defensive line coach in 98 he was the DC on all 3 Pats SB and has been part of 6 SB winning staffs. He was highly qualified to become a HC in the NFL the race BS is just that BS. There are plenty of old white guys who have done crappy coaching job who don't have Crennel's resume of success.

Dude, you missed my point, that's exactly why he is not a good fit. His whole career he has been with great defensive coaches, and once he gets his chance to work on his own he has the worst defense in the NFL. Tells me he's got nothing of his own to use, and mooches off his HC.
Dude Mangini is a defensive HC, Crenel has 6 SB as either a Defensive Line Coach or a DC. I guess Parcells Mooched off BB and BB in his first job in Cleveland just sucked without Brady. Sutton has no resume to be a DC in the NFL other than he was here and Donnie Henderson had to leave because he was to high profile to be on the staff once he was over looked for the HC job.

You realize in 04 Henderson 1st year as DC we ranked 4th in points allowed and 7th in yards given up. This year our D ranks 14th in points allowed and 10th in yards given up. Our D under Sutton has never played up to our D under Henderson with far better personal.
First of all learn how to spell it's personnel. Secondly, most darksiders criticized the Jets for not having the right personnel the last 2 years! This year we finally added pieces that we sorely needed. SUtton should be judged on how well he has done this year. Henderson took over an excellent defense and ruined it in quick order. Henderson took over a bad D and turned it around the first year. Bradway let Ferguson go in FA and killed that D along with letting the OL go to shit. And I'm comparing that D to this one jack not last years or the years before. You know the one with the 4/3 personal that was brought in. We also didn't have half that talent in the secondary that we do now. Sutton has been mediocre and worse he coached D like a pussey. We have one of the biggest front 7ins in the NFL with speed and talent in the secondary and we let the O attack us way to much. Henderson turned a soft cover 2 D into an attacking machine. Sutton is turning a tough attack D into a soft pile of mush.
Sutton has done more with the personnel he has been given than Henderson ever did. Ultimatley Henderson FAILED. That's the facts jack! If Henderson is so good why isn't he a HC somewhere else. LOL.
