Jets are at least a game up in the division on all 3 teams, could be 2 up on Buffalo or Miami. Root for the teams in bold. Divisional games Cleveland at Buffalo. Likelihood: 35/65 Oakland at Miami. Likelihood: 25/75 Other games, in order of importance (my opinion) San Diego at Pittsburgh (Pitt and Balty losses, and we're #2 in the AFC). Likelihood: 36/64 Baltimore at New York Giants (See above). Likelihood: 66-34 Denver at Atlanta (Denver is 5-4, a loss here, and we're 2 ahead of the AFC West leader). Likelihood: 65-35 Tennessee at Jacksonville (I admit, I want Tennessee 10-0, so we can ruin their perfect season. But if they lose this week, and then we beat them, we're 1 back of the #1 seed). Likelihood: 35/65 Houston at Indianapolis (Only important in terms of wild card, but let's bury the Colts). Likelihood: 30/70 I had to edit the MNF game. Wrong home team.
i think we should root for jacksonville.every week the titans win is another week closer to their first lost.bringing the odds closer to our favor
I want San Diego. They suck coming across the country and the Jets have their # in the playoffs. Do not want PIT or INDY
As long as we beat both Buffalo and Miami at home, we then hold the tie breakers with these 2 teams because we won both head to head matchups. At this point our division record would be better than the Pats and we would hold the tiebreaker against them. I like our chances!
That's the one team I don't want the Jets to be even near! I don't even want to mention their name in the same sentence! They match up against us too damn well. Are you not afraid of them after that whooping they put on us? It was a domination! Jets cannot beat that team. Pray they fall out of the playoff picture.
different teams now. SD was a desperate team 0-2 and needed a win to save their season. The Jets were brand new and still trying to find their identity. The Jets now have a confidence that alone could beat the Chargers. Redemption if the Jets can play them.
No its not, we'er 7-3. In first place in the east and currently leading in the tie breakers. Its a great time to talka bout it as fans. Let the players take it one game at a time. I'm too damn excited to.
It's too early to start talking about playoffs but definitely not too early to determine what teams to root for in hopes of making them. Good post. The games I think are most likely to pull out wins are Indy and The Giants. I also think Cleveland and Atlanta Wins. I hope Jax wins - they'll definitely have a chance - but I don't have high hopes. And I can't possibly see Miami or Pittsburgh losing this week.
Games today mean as much as games in 6 weeks. Not that I expect us getting the #1 seed, but if we want it, we need Titans losses starting now. Of course, if we lose to them, it won't matter at all.
Shitty day for Jets fans as far as the playoff picture is concerned. Oh well - there's still hope that the Browns win tomorrow.
That's about it. What hurts is that Miami, Denver, and Pittsburgh all could have easily lost today. Of course, so could have the Jets on Thursday ...
Well not necessarily the SD loss just about knocks them out when they have Indy, Tampa, Atlanta, & Denver left. Other contenders and tough opponents left Titans - Jets, Steelers, Colts Steelers - New England, Dallas, Baltimore(helps us no matter what), Tennessee Denver - Jets, Carolina, Buffalo, San Diego Ravens - Philly...,Washington, Pitt, Dallas, Jack.... Colts - San Diego & Tennessee Miami - New England, Buffalo, Jets Buffalo - Miami, Jets, New England, Denver Patriots - Miami, Pittsburgh, Buffalo. Someone has to lose so we should have a 2 game gap for at least the wild card.
Yeah, I don't see a wild card team coming out of the AFC South, which I think the Steelers will win. I don't think the Ravens have what it takes to make it to the playoffs. Same goes for the AFC West. Either the Chargers or Broncos will win the division and the other will not make the playoffs. The team I am most scared of right now if the Jets wind up fighting for the wild card (assuming they do not win the division which obviously would be optimal) is the Colts.
