    See my signature.

My wife went with me to the Bar to watch the game last night. She had no idea why I was so stressed. I was worried I was going to lose my dinner on the sidewalk, I couldn't sit. A few other long time fans were there expressing their nervousness as well. She just wasn't getting it. Why the nervousness? They'll either win, or lose.

After I got my voice back this morning I explained to her that those are the games the same old Jets lose. Up by three scores at half they would find a heartbreaking way to lose the big game.

Hopefully, she will never really have to understand ever.

    RIP SOJ.

winston, you are the Fing man. At least some of us got some good sleep while others were having conniptions of the retard brand. Anyone who can't enjoy this victory doesn't know how to enjoy a victory. The CS made their mistakes. The players made their mistakes. But if the opposition, the vaunted geniuses who people think thoroughly out-coached and out-played the Jets, hadn't made more mistakes - this isn't a RIP SOJs thread. It is a RIP 2008 Season thread.

People say we got beat by a team without Tom Brady and without a lot of defensive starters. The team we played last night would have beaten most of the teams in the league the way they were playing. And we came out on top.

I would like to throw the first shovel full of dirt on our old friend. Right after I piss on him.

    Beautiful !
But as you said in a subsequent post, every horror film has its sequel. I've been around too long to believe that SOJ is actually gone. Hopefully, he's in a coma that will last a long time (at least until the end of this season). Maybe he just took a much needed vacation.

I hope you're right. At the very least, there are large cracks in the walls of my darkside existence and rays of sunshine are starting to filter in.

While I have more disdain for Herm than any other Jet coach other than Kotite he did get us within a kneel down of playing for an AFC Championship and got us to 3 playoff appearences with other peoples players. He was succesful therefore I can't put him on the list.

It's a good thing the Jets pulled it off; I was getting ready to put a Dulcolax in my dog.

Nice thread, WB. To the above, I will add:

Goodbye "We want Sapp! We want Sapp!"

Goodbye Mark Gastineau penalties in the 1986 playoffs against Cleveland.

Goodbye Browning Nagle over Ricky Watters.

    Goodbye fake spike.

Goodbye "I resign as HC of the NYJ."

Goodbye losing two QBs within 8 plays of the same game.

I can not believe how many of my friends are pissed at Mangini and the coaches and can't seem to enjoy the win . I am shocked how Jet fans can't take it for what it is, a old fashion shoot out that we won, and have to disect every play call and lay blame on someone for every single negative play. Its never the other team, or that these people are humans, it has to be the coaches or its because we are the Jets, like things never happend to any other team. Beningo was the worst this morning. Its all about poor Joe the jet fan, he actually sounded pissed. I am dissapointed in Jet fans.. I really can't relate to any of this. It was one of the best Jet games I have ever watched and we won and put us in 1st place over the hated Pats. This is why I root for this damm team and spend so much time thinking and talking Jet football, for 3.5 hrs. of football that we just watched. I respect everyone's opinion, but on this one, I am confused on what people are looking for. I am gonna enjoy last night for the next 4 days but I guess I am alone on this one

Lets not forget to bury Bruce Harper's fumble. Or Bill Simpson's interception.

Or OJ Simpson going over 2000 yards on a cold December Day in what was Weeb Eubanks last game as coach of the Jets. What led to a decade of awful football (thankfully I wasn't alive for most of it)

    And most importantly goodbye....

Pete Rozelle: The New York Jets select...... Quarterback
    Jet fans: Ahhhhhhh
Pete Rozelle: Ken O'Brien UC Davis
Jets fans while slitting wrists: Dohhhhhhhhhh!@!!@#!!!

Unbelivable and that's not a shot at Obrien. How about the Packers taking Favre 1 pick ahead of us getting Nagel.
