    at last night's game...

    1. If only I could bottle the Jets' performance from the first half of last night's game. The Offense looked unstoppable. The Defense was making enough plays to get off the field right up until that last drive before the half.

    2. Leon F-ing Washington. Enough said.

    3. I really like our O-Line. Mangold did an incredible job on Wilfork. D'brick was very, very solid. I only saw 1-2 plays where he got physically beat by Seymour. However, there did seem to be some mixups around blocking assignments between D'Brick and Faneca. Faneca overall was somewhat unimpressive I thought.

    4. Dwight Lowery's new nickname should be "Toast". My God he was getting beat all over the field. Gaffney abused him all night. I am really, really glad we picked up Ty Law.

    5. Revis is an absolute stud.

    6. No matter how Gholston turns out, I think that we will love this year's draft class because of Keller alone. The Jets look like geniuses for trading up for this kid.

    7. Brett Favre's best game hands down. Forget statistics. All he did was make clutch plays at the most important times. This is clearly something that we did not get with Pennington.

    8. Coaching almost cost us the game. Jets did not do a good job of countering Belichick's adjustments.

    9. Jay Feeley is making a very strong case for sticking with this team. I would love to see Nugent go on IR and then compete for the job in camp next year.

    10. Overall, a HUGE win in terms of playoff implications. For me, this game kind of left more questions than answers as far as where this team is headed. The Jets can make an even bigger statement next game against Tenn.

    That's a curious conclusion.

Absolutely Kellers play has masked the Gholston pick.Im still wondering what the hell happened to Gholston he was a beast in college. Im far from giving up on him.

If you're referring to Ty Law's coverage on Moss on that last TD - it was nearly perfect. I don't know what more he could have done without getting called for PI.

I saw Gholston close to the pile like three times last night on special teams. He’s getting better.

I agree not a CB in the league could have defended that.

No I was not referring to that. I was referring to his earlier play, and to Lowery's earlier play.

I think we can go on and on about him? WHO KNOWS...But imagine if we liked Mayo instead of Ghost-on in the draft? I'm not saying that Mayo starts for us, but he definitely would have made some significant contributions, other than whiffing on arm tackles on special teams.

Here is something a little scary. The 511 yards the Jets gave up were the third most ever by a Jets team and only surpassed by the 524 to Miami in 1989 and 584 to Miami in 1988.

Tell me if I'm off base here but it seemed like Law was matched up with Moss on a lot of plays where Lowery was matched up with Gaffney. The Pats were throwing at Lowery all night and were very successful by doing so.

    I don't agree at all.

First of all, he is a rookie and you should expect growing pains and bad games.

Second, he wasn't getting "beat" all of over the field. I think he broke up 2-3 passes. He is always around the ball, he just needs to work on his reads and technique - once again common rookie problems.

Third, I saw a number of times that Law got beat as well.

Fourth, no one was saying this when he was playing almost lights out the first 7 games. Everyone was calling him a steal. Now he hits a bump in the road the last 2-3 games and everyone jumps off the bandwagon.

This kids talent is obvious and he is a ballhawk, always in the midst of the play. But he is still a rookie and is going to make mistakes. We need to have some patience.

My thoughts exactly. To have Lowery in single coverage (with no help) for 90% of the game is a credit to his skills ESPECIALLY AS A ROOKIE. Lowery played GREAT. Not perfect, but GREAT. This secondary of ours should be very nice come playoffs.

Mayo looks like a future Pro-Bowler. Amazing how the Pats always draft behind the Jets yet always pick better players than the Jets.

Mayo looked good. But Gholston will too. Patience.

Im going to go overly objective here:

Keller played great but he did drop an easy TD. If we would have lost we would all be talking about that. He made up for it big though. I love the guy.

If we are going to double welker and moss then why wern't we using our best CB to single cover the slot or 3rd WR? Neither Lowry or Law showed they could handle the single coverage.

Calvin Pace isn't up to covering top TEs.

Where were our blitzes? Whenever we had NE in a spot where they had to move the ball we should have been blitzing the hell out of them. Not going into heavy pass coverage that allowed Cassel to wait for someone to come open or run for 10 yards before being touched.

Why is our 3rd WR always a decoy?

We need to gameplan better on defense for the hurry up. If Jenkins is out we need to come up with a plan to get more pressure. Cue the "need to blitz more" idea.

One other point - we desperately need quality depth behind Kris Jenkins. He was definitely starting to suck wind when the Pats went to their no-huddle Offense.

I think our Dline depth is ok. Mosley had the huge sack, Pouha made a couple nice plays and Devito is not terrible.

lol, you think the hype has died down?

I predict it is only starting. Check back in a week and compare posts then to posts now. The Jets will be Titan killers on this board in a week, mark my words.

Most important thing to take from this. Mangini is atrocious at making second half adjustments as evident by the Jets getting KILLED in the third quarter this year. It frustrates me every game where they deviate from what is working and let teams get right back in the game.

    1) Best game Brett Farve has had as a jet.

    2) Pats made a very good adjustment in the second half, and exposed our defense by basically abandoning the run, spreading out our defense, and keeping Jenkins off the field. It's a good strategy, but not many teams besides the Pats have the personnel to do it (Arizona did it well).

    3) All 3 receivers (Cotch, Coles and Keller), had big plays. Keller makes the Gholston watch a little less of a blow.

    4) This Mayo character is worrying.

    5) Can we honestly find a CB playing better then Revis right now? He got beat once by Wes Welker, and that was it.
